Wes Fogden's stunning 20-yard strike earned Bournemouth a 1-0 home win over Brentford and their first success in eight matches.
Signed from non-league Havant & Waterlooville last autumn, Fogden picked up a loose ball on the right of midfield and cut inside to unleash a terrific left-footed shot into the top corner in Tuesday night's League One clash at Dean Court. Fogden's third goal of the season gave Bournemouth their first triumph since early February when they beat Exeter 2-0. Bournemouth deserved to win a poor-quality affair between two out-of-sort teams and ought to have scored before Fogden's eventual winner. Harry Forrester's headed goalline clearance denied Steve Cook a goal, Shaun MacDonald had a stinging shot saved and Wes Thomas hooked a shot wide.
