Chesterfield v MK Dons preview

Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Chesterfield and MK Dons at the B2net Stadium.

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan could make a raft of changes. Sheridan was seething after seeing his side squander a two-goal lead to draw at Stevenage last weekend. Goals from Neal Trotman and Jordan Bowery put the Spireites in control but they hit the self-destruct button and conceded twice in as many minutes. Following the game Sheridan criticised his players for being mentally weak and called the performance 'embarrassing'. Defender Simon Ford, midfielders Jamie Lowry and Danny Whitaker and forwards Nick Ajose and Jack Lester are among the options for Sheridan. Defender Gregor Robertson (hamstring) and midfielder Jimmy Juan (ankle) are closing in on returns from injury but Saturday may come too soon for them to be involved. Sheridan is in the market to sign a midfielder and a striker on loan after David Davis was recalled by Wolves and Dean Morgan was farmed out to Oxford. The Blues boss hopes to have at least one new arrival in time for the Dons match. MK Dons look like having an unchanged squad. On-loan full-back James Tavernier has been nursing a knee injury recently and is set to remain on the sidelines, while fellow defender Gary MacKenzie could miss a third match due to his neck problem. Midfielder Stephen Gleeson will serve the second game of his three-match suspension. Strikers Jabo Ibehre and Charlie MacDonald and midfielder Luke Chadwick are all fully-fit again after struggling on through injuries in recent weeks. The Dons won the reverse fixture in August 6-2 but assistant manager John Gorman is not taking the struggling Spireites lightly. "Chesterfield are one of the form teams at the moment, as daft as it sounds. It's a lovely new stadium and it'll be a good atmosphere. They are fighting for points so it'll be difficult," Gorman said.
