Sheehan: Available

Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Notts County and Rochdale at Meadow Lane.

Alan Sheehan will come back into the reckoning for the Magpies for the home fixture.

The defender was suspended for the 2-0 victory at Stevenage after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season during the 1-1 draw at Exeter.

Jon Harley replaced him last weekend and manager Martin Allen must decide whether to stick with the transfer-listed full-back or restore Sheehan to the starting XI.

Charlie Allen had to be substituted at Stevenage due to a dead leg but the midfielder should be okay.

Goalkeeper Rob Burch is likely to remain sidelined by a toe problem while defender Stephen Hunt will continue to miss out with his

ankle injury.

Rochdale pair David Ball and Jake Kean will return to contention for the game.

Neither Peterborough striker Ball or Blackburn goalkeeper Kean were given permission to play in the midweek Carling Cup defeat at Aldershot, but the loanees are expected to go straight back into manager Steve Eyre's starting line-up.

Ball could play his final game for Dale, with Peterborough considering an early recall for the six-goal forward, while Kean is expected to step back in for Matty Edwards.

Eyre has no other injury or suspension problems and is unlikely to make further changes, but midfielders Brian Barry-Murphy and Joe Thompson, and striker Matthew Barnes-Homer were all second-half substitutes at Aldershot and are pushing for recalls.

Dale are chasing just their third league win of the season.
