Johnson: To sit out match

Johnson: To sit out match

Team news ahead of Saturday afternoon's League One clash between Yeovil and Sheffield Wednesday at Huish Park.

Glovers midfielder Gavin Williams has seen a specialist to determine if his knee ligament injury requires surgery as his side prepare to take on the Owls.

Williams suffered the knock at Preston last week, leaving the field on crutches. And the Glover travelled to London on Wednesday to have the damage assessed by Andrew Williams, the surgeon responsible for getting the careers of cricketer Andrew Flintoff and rugby star Danny Cipriani back on track in the past.

The club are currently awaiting the results of the consultation.

Striker Jon Obika is back in the care of parent club Tottenham's medical staff as he continues his recuperation from a similar injury, and will be sidelined for at least another three weeks, while Andy Williams' ankle problem is still two weeks from healing.

Paul Wotton is suspended for the clash after picking up five yellow cards already this season.

Meanwhile, youngster Rhys Baggridge has joined Toolstation Western League outfit Gillingham Town on loan.

Wednesday will be without suspended winger Jermaine Johnson for the match.

Johnson, who had only recently forced his way back into the side following knee surgery, was sent off for violent conduct in the midweek thrashing at Stevenage and begins a three-game ban.

Manager Gary Megson might have been expected to make radical changes after watching his side crash 5-1 on Tuesday night, but there is every chance the same players will be asked to put things right.

Gary Madine scored his sixth goal of the season at Stevenage and is expected to continue up front.

Usually that would be alongside Clinton Morrison, but David McGoldrick could earn a debut after joining on an emergency loan from Nottingham Forest on Thursday evening.

Megson could opt to recall central defender Reda Johnson and midfielder James O'Connor, both half-time substitutes in midweek, but has no new injury problems as the Owls look to avoid a fourth league defeat on their travels this season.
