Devaney: Will miss match against Chairboys

Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Tranmere and Wycombe at Prenton Park.

Tranmere manager Les Parry hopes to sign a striker on loan from a Premier League club in time for the home clash.

After missing out on two potential loan signings due to injuries in the past fortnight, Parry is aiming to bolster his squad ahead of the visit of the Chairboys.

Rovers winger Martin Devaney has been sidelined with a hamstring strain, although he could shake off the complaint and return to the fold this weekend.

But playmaker Andy Robinson and defender Mark McChrystal remain long-term absentees.

Robinson has a hamstring strain and is not expected to return for another month, while McChrystal will be out for at least two months because of a foot injury.

Meanwhile, Gareth Ainsworth and Stuart Beavon come back into the Wycombe squad.

Experienced midfielder Ainsworth and striker Beavon missed the 1-0 defeat at Yeovil in midweek with back and head injuries respectively.

Their return means that Dave Winfield's absence with knee and groin problems aside, manager Gary Waddock has a full compliment of players to choose from.

Waddock has defender Marvin McCoy, midfielders Ben Harding, Matt Bloomfield and Kadeem Harris as well as striker Scott Rendell available should he wish to make changes on the back of a fourth straight league defeat.

The Chairboys have gone 400 minutes without scoring in League One since Joel Grant netted the final goal in a 3-1 victory at Leyton Orient on August 16.
