Doble: Boost for Cherries

Doble: Boost for Cherries

Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Bournemouth and Walsall at Dean Court.

Bournemouth could welcome back Ryan Doble as they look to put three successive defeats behind them.

The Cherries were on the wrong end of a 4-1 thrashing against West Brom in the Carling Cup and fell to Carlisle and Stevenage in their last two league encounters.

Doble, currently on loan from Southampton, missed the defeat to the Baggies with a thigh strain but could bolster manager Lee Bradbury's attacking options.

Steven Gregory has a thigh injury of his own and is a doubt after missing the Carling Cup clash.

Bradbury will definitely not be able to call upon Michael Symes and Joe Partington.

Symes has a back problem and Partington is ruled out with a hip injury.

Walsall welcome midfielder Adam Chambers back into contention for their trip.

Chambers has missed the club's last three matches having been sent off in the Carling Cup first-round defeat to Middlesbrough.

The summer signing played 90 minutes for Walsall's reserves on Tuesday in order to maintain his match fitness and manager Dean Smith now faces a welcome selection dilemma.

"Whether he comes straight back into the starting line-up remains to be seen," Smith told the club's official website. "It is something that I will be considering carefully."

Striker Jon Macken, who opened the scoring in style in last Saturday's 1-1 draw against Yeovil, suffered a slight ankle knock in training on Wednesday and will be monitored, but he is expected to be okay.

The Saddlers will wear a one-off navy and sky blue third strip at Dean Court as both themselves and Bournemouth normally don red and black.
