Hamer: Set for Addicks debut

Hamer: Set for Addicks debut

Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Charlton Athletic and Bournemouth at The Valley.

Chris Powell will field a new-look side.

The Addicks boss has brought in 15 new players over the summer while 14 have left The Valley since the end of last season.

However, winger Danny Green is suspended for a red card while playing for Dagenham last term and full-back Cedric Evina has a slight knee problem so they will have to wait to make their debuts.

Ben Hamer is set to get the nod ahead of Rob Elliot in goal behind an entirely new back four of Andy Hughes, Michael Morrison, Matt Taylor and former Bournemouth left-back Rhoys Wiggins.

Another ex-Cherry, Danny Hollands, should start in midfield while Paul Hayes could make his debut in attack.

Bradley Wright-Phillips, Johnnie Jackson and Scott Wagstaff look set to be the only survivors from last season in the starting line-up.

Lee Bradbury is facing a dilemma over his goalkeeper.

Both Shwan Jalal and Dan Thomas have impressed for the Cherries in pre-season, leaving Bradbury with a decision to make over who gets the jersey.

Joe Partington will play no part, though, and is still another month from a return as he continues his recovery from a hip operation.

Bradbury has kept his cards close to his chest in the build-up to the encounter, although Adam Barrett is certain to play as he captains the side for the first time.

Scott Malone and Nathan Byrne are set to make their debuts at full-back while Harry Arter could get the nod in centre midfield.
