Chimbonda: Could make his Rovers debut

Chimbonda: Could make his Rovers debut

Team news for Tuesday night's Championship clash between Blackpool and Doncaster at Bloomfield Road (kick-off 8pm).

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is expected to recall Craig Cathcart for the visit of Donny.

The defender missed Saturday's woeful 4-0 loss at West Ham after picking up a knee injury while on international duty with Northern Ireland last week.

However, he has returned to training and after a defensive display at Upton Park which caused Holloway severe concerns, the centre-half should start at Bloomfield Road.

New loan signing Callum McManaman, who signed a three-month deal from Wigan on Monday, will go straight into the squad and will be hoping to earn a start in attack.

Striker Lomana LuaLua will be also hoping for a full debut as he made his bow from the bench in east London after penning a deal with the Seasiders until the end of the season last week.

James O'Connor is a doubt for Doncaster's trip to the Seasiders.

The right-back picked up a toe injury in Friday's 3-0 home defeat to Leeds and he will be assessed ahead of the journey across the Pennines.

Pascal Chimbonda could come in for his debut in place of O'Connor after the former Tottenham defender was named on the bench against United. That was Chimbonda's first involvement since signing a short-term deal at the beginning of the month.

Midfielder Ryan Mason is also a doubt as he struggles with a stomach bug and his availability in the final 16 will be decided late on.

Goalkeeper Gary Woods will not feature as he been sent for an X-ray on a collarbone injury while Chris Brown, James Chambers, Martin Woods and Adam Lockwood are long-term absentees and will be unavailable for Dean Saunders once more.
