  1. Thanks for all your comments, stick with us for the match report and reactions. See you again soon!

  2. 90+4

That's it! Ten-man QPR were undone by a rampant Sunderland side as goals from Nicklas Bendtner, James McClean and Stephan Sessegnon were enough to grab the three points. With Djibril Cisse seeing red for the visitors, Taye Taiwo grabbed a consolation from a wonderful free-kick but it ended 3-1 to the Black Cats.

  3. 90+4

Nothing is made of the corner, in fact Sunderland go on the break from it. Hughes is one frustrated man.

  4. 90+3

Mackie gets the ball nipped off his toes after some great play from the forward. It's total endeavour from the QPR man who wins his side a corner.

  5. 90+2

McClean is absolutely rampant I tells you, he flies into the box and feeds Sessegnon who tries to jink past a flurry of defenders - but QPR do their job well and clear.

  6. 90+1

Four minutes added time to play. Can. QPR. Do. It?! The mother of all comebacks it will have to be.

  7. 90

Sessegnon's needing treatment after going down heavily, cramping up - understandable because he's ran his socks off in his first game back from suspension.

  8. 89

Looks like nearly-member-of-JLS Anton Ferdinand will be 'beat again'. Shall I get my coat for that pun?!

  9. 88

Mackie has had a bit of a thankless task up the field. He's been dogged and determined but hasn't quite had that final ball to speak of. Great attitude though for a side that will need that in the latter stage of the season.

  10. 87

Young goes down under a Sessegnon aerial challenge, fell awkwardly too on his face but the defender is back up and ready to continue. Hard nut.

  11. 86

McClean has ripped QPR to shreds in this game but in a strange way the visitors have looked a lot more threatening with ten men.

  12. 85

Taiwo whips in a wonderful cross right into the danger area but with Bothroyd out on the wing, there's only Wright-Phillips to aim at and he fails to get there in time.

  13. 84

Well, what a second-half! All the action has happened after the interval! Struggling to keep up, but it's a cracking last 45.

  14. 83

Sunderland take off Bendtner for Elmohamady as QPR take off Zamora for Bothroyd.

  15. 82

McClean is proving to be a huge problem for QPR and whips in another dangerous ball which is headed just over Kenny's bar. Superb delivery.

  16. 81

Every goal will count in the relegation scrap that QPR may ultimately find themselves in so Taiwo's strike could help immensely.

  17. 80

That goal received no reaction from Mark Hughes - not anything. Not even a flicker of a smile. Sparky's not a happy bunny.

  18. 79

GOAL TAIWO!!! Superb curling effort from Taye Taiwo into the top corner leaving Simon Mignolet with no chance. Brilliant set-piece from the full-back. Game on possibly?!

  19. 78

Turner gives away a free-kick from about 25 yards out. Taiwo and Buzsaky stand over it...

  20. 77

QPR have really struggled since going down to ten men, and it's shown as Sunderland have totally capitalised on their lowly opposition.

  21. 76

GOAL SESSEGNON!!! Game over for QPR. McClean flicks the ball into Vaughan's path down the left flank who picks out Stephane Sessegnon at the far-post and he slides it past Kenny. 3-0!

  22. 75

Quite a comedy fall from Campbell who tries to latch on to a poor pass back but is off his feet in the process and slams to the floor.

  23. 74

Despite the scoreline, QPR aren't giving this up - they're still piling forward, Hughes isn't opting for damage limitation at this stage.

  24. 73

Buzsaky goes for a first-time strike from a lay-off, but he's a little off-balance and lashes at the ball rather than showing composure. The effort goes well wide of Mignolet's right-hand post.

  25. 72

Colback is on the floor receiving treatment from a challenge, he seems okay though as Mike Jones halts play momentarily.

  26. 71

That has to be game over for Hughes' men so early on. They were struggling before McClean's strike but it's going to be a huge effort to comeback... then again, Liverpool could testify that the R's can do it!

  27. 70

GOAL MCCLEAN!!! James McClean shows utter persistence to finish that move off as he first goes for a strike in the box which comes back off Young, the youngster then collects the ball and hits it across goal again which gets the slightest of deflections from Ferdinand and trickles in past a helpless Mignolet.

  28. 69

McClean wastes a glorious chance to put a ball into the box as he breaks away from his marker on the right and tries to drill it into the near-post, however pulls it wide.

  29. 68

Taiwo stands his ground to deny Gardner the chance of an overlap but in doing so, gives away a corner despite trying to shield the ball out of play.

  30. 67

Wright-Phillips is getting a bit of a decent chance on the ball, he really needs to show what he can do after a dip in form of late.

  31. 66

Derry breaks up a Sunderland attack but the Black Cats work hard to win the ball back, it's a bit of a struggle at the moment for Hughes' men.

  32. 65

O'Neill's out in his technical area barking the orders, telling Sunderland to settle a little and be a bit more fluent and clinical in their possession.

  33. 64

Vital challenge from Young to deny McClean a strike on goal. A Sessegnon cross comes all the way across to the Sunderland youngster who goes for the top corner and Young throws his body to deflect the ball away.

  34. 63

Bendtner is just unable to dig the ball out of his feet as a Sunderland counter goes begging. It's hotting up this tie, end-to-end!

  35. 62

O'Neill has certainly got the reaction he wanted following that midweek defeat to Blackburn. Every single Sunderland player is pressuring the ball and making QPR work for their possession.

  36. 61

The R's are desperately trying to calm this game down and it's Derry at the heart of it. He's been solid as a rock today.

  37. 60

Adel Taarabt goes off for Shaun Wright-Phillips.

  38. 60

The Black Cats faithful are in full voice now - they can sense more goals to come against a frail 10-man QPR outfit.

  39. 59

Wright-Phillips looks like he'll be making an appearance shortly.

  40. 58

Sessegnon leaves Onuoha for dust as he turns and powers towards Kenny's goal. The forward goes for a powerful strike which sails over the bar.

  41. 57

Crazy last couple of minutes there - it's got the Stadium of Light on their feet. Will O'Neill's men make their numerical advantage count now?!

  42. 56

Well it all happened then! Gardner first with a wonderful free-kick from 20 yards out which struck Kenny's bar and then Cisse stupidly lunges into Campbell for a straight red. That'll liven this game up shirley!

  43. 55

CISSE OFF!!! Djibril Cisse is back suspended as he flies in two-footed on Fraizer Campbell. The forward is complaining he's been hard done by but there's no doubt in my mind - it's a leg breaker!

  44. 54

Gardner smashes the post! Great free-kick! It smashes the underside of Kenny's bar but goes out as QPR hurriedly clear!

  45. 53

Campbell goes down softly under a Derry tackle. It's from behind, very soft mind you but rules are rules your honour.

  46. 52

Hughes didn't take long to ring the changes as he brings off the cautioned Diakite for Akos Buzsaky.

  47. 51

Bendtner's stayed down under a hefty challenge from behind from Onuoha. It's left the Dane clutching his back, the defender timed his challenge perfectly though.

  48. 50

Zamora and Taarabt link up really well in a tight space down the right, but the midfielder can't quite get enough behind his cross and Sunderland clear at the first opportunity.

  49. 49

Vaughan finds a yard of space and shifts the ball on to his left, he's slightly off-balance as he lets fly with a strike which ends up in the stands behind Kenny.

  50. 48

It's all Sunderland at the moment. They're spreading the play well, leaving QPR chasing shadows.

  51. 47

Gardner intercepts off Taiwo and piles down the right channel leaving the full-back in his wake. Good play from Gardner but his final ball is slightly over-hit and the tempo is lost.

  52. 46

The hardly confidence-stricken Taarabt goes for an ambitious strike, smashes back off the brave wall. Awful effort.

  53. 46

Kyrgiakos gifts a free-kick to QPR after climbing all over the back of Zamora. It's pretty central, about 30 yards out.

  54. QPR get the second-half underway

  55. Both sets of teams are out of the tunnel again. No changes to note.

  56. The crowd are getting a bit of a treat at half-time - Joey Barton's gone in net and looks quite handy with his... well, hands. Sure a fair few of the opposing fans wouldn't mind taking a strike at the ex-Newcastle man!

  57. That's it for the half. Just Zorro-like Nicklas Bendtner providing the solitary goal as he gets his head to a beautifully whipped-in James McClean delivery. 1-0 Sunderland at the break. Can Mark Hughes' men respond in the second-half?

  58. 45+4

Last chance saloon for QPR from this free-kick as Taarabt delivers into the area, but Sunderland smash it clear. The whistle then goes for half-time.

  59. 45+3

Bridge crunches into Mackie who flicks the ball past the left-back. Easy booking for Mike Jones once more.

  60. 45+2

Zamora is also getting increasingly frustrated - mostly with the ref. He's not getting any decisions go his way in this half.

  61. 45+1

Cisse draws another offside flag, he is hungry for the ball but is frustratingly wandering beyond the back four during some of QPR's counters.

  62. 45

Taiwo's having a tough time of it at the moment and is being tested by Sessegnon, but the full-back does well to shield a throughball out of play for a goal-kick. The defender needed that after getting a large portion of the blame for Sunderland's opener.

  63. 44

The R's are gifted with possession following Sessegnon's poor ball. But the winger eventually gets it back and draws in a foul from Taiwo.

  64. 43

Ferdinand gives away a foul at the far-post from the resulting corner. Easy decision for Mike Jones to make as he pulls up the Rangers centre-back.

  65. 42

Just a fraction wide from Cisse! Nearly an immediate response, it's not the cleanest of contact from the striker who gets ahead of his man to head down - it takes a slight deflection and goes out for a corner.

  66. 41

GOAL BENDTNER!!! Terrific cross from McClean, right into the danger area from the left flank. Masked-man Bendtner is the one on the move and leaps ahead of Taiwo to head into the far corner.

  67. 40

Cisse tries to keep the ball alive after Sunderland block a Taarabt strike but it's a poor cross straight into the feet of Colback who is able to turn in his own box and clear.

  68. 39

This game is lacking that little bit of quality. Looks like it could come from either McClean or Taarabt.

  69. 38

Cisse and Taarabt fail to link up in a promising position. Sunderland are pushing really high up the field, if Cisse would've connected with that pass - he would've been through on goal.

  70. 37

McClean is trying to make things happen, he drives into the box on the left and drills in a ball to the far-post. It somehow manages to get all the way to the back stick before it's cleared but the official flags for offside.

  71. 36

Taarabt again gets a good foot to the ball to deny a Sunderland attack - this time Gardner fails to get past the midfielder.

  72. 35

That might spice things up a bit because the game's gone a little flat in these latter stages.

  73. 34

After that embarrassing exchange, Zamora and Kyrgiakos go into the book.

  74. 33

Handbags handbags! Zamora goes down under a Kyrgiakos challenge, the striker is fuming and the pair go head-to-head. Embarrassingly Zamora graces the defender's head and claims to have been headbutted. Shameful, absolutely shameful.

  75. 33

Poor free-kick from Taarabt as it smashes against the wall and is cleared.

  76. 32

Ooh this is interesting, Mackie goes sprawling in the box but the contact comes from Turner just before the forward gets into the area. It's a free-kick right on the edge of the box, one for Taarabt to swing in.

  77. 31

Colback wins the ball back in QPR's half and Taarabt does exactly the same moments later - the midfielder's are really working hard today. Good to see.

  78. 30

Taarabt gives Diakite a talking to after a clumsy challenge, asking him to calm down with the number two already carrying a booking.

  79. 29

Looks as if Gardner's gone to right-back to compensate for O'Shea's exit.

  80. 28

Sessegnon gives Derry a run for his money and the forward opts to take a tame shot early from around 25 yards out. The Rangers man did his job well there.

  81. 27

O'Shea comes off for Campbell - tactical reshuffle needed by O'Neill. Huge blow for the Black Cats to see their stand-in skipper leave the field.

  82. 27

O'Shea's down now and he is definitely struggling. Big blow for Sunderland.

  83. 26

Zamora collects the ball from Taarabt - takes one touch to set himself up and anotehr to strike it, but it's way over the bar from 20 yards out.

  84. 26

Bendtner tries to gide in a near-post corner past Kenny, it's a deft touch but one which Kenny had covered and the Dane's effort goes past the post.

  85. 25

Kenny looks at the ground and smiles as if to blame the turf. He's continuing between the sticks for now. Seems to be a lot better.

  86. 24

The game's stopped momentarily as Kenny receives treatment to his right ankle. He's struggling, however is back on his feet.

  87. 23

Real concern for Mark Hughes. Paddy Kenny has gone over after taking a goal-kick. It's routine clearance, he's not caught it cleanly.

  88. 22

Cisse is found with a delightful ball, he makes a superb run to latch on to the pass, shifts it out of his feet just inside the box and goes for an early shot but O'Shea blocks to take the sting out of the effort and Mignolet collects.

  89. 22

Just to confirm Luke Young has been booked earlier on for a challenge on James McClean. Rightly so too.

  90. 21

Barton gives the crowd a cheeky smile as he goes to warm up on the sidelines, he'll be desperate to come on.

  91. 20

It's starting to kick into end-to-end stuff now. QPR are responding well to Sunderland's lion's share of possession with a few attacks of their own. Good stuff so far at the Stadium of Light.

  92. 19

Sessegnon shows excellent skills to pay the bills to get away from his marker. He's definitely not going to have a quiet game today.

  93. 18

Vaughan tries to sneak in a delivery from the left as he skips towards the byline, QPR are standing strong though and block the attempt. Great defending.

  94. 17

Mackie is in the thick of it, he's looking lively and confident and wins his side a free-kick just inside the Black Cats half. Nothing comes of the resulting set-piece however.

  95. 16

Mackie is having no luck with the officials today - he's screaming for a corner as he dashes to the near-post to connect with a driven cross, it's a good shout too - sure it came off a Sunderland head.

  96. 15

Colback's there again, gets beyond his strikers and latches on to a Bendtner flick-on - he takes the chance on the bounce and sees it scrape the outside of Kenny's right-hand post.

  97. 14

Colback scuffs a glorious opportunity, Sessegnon flies down the left and cuts back a decent cross into the midfielder's path but he swipes at thin air and the chance goes begging.

  98. 13

It's a bit sloppy in these opening exchanges, no real chances to report so far.

  99. 12

Diakite goes in the book for a late challenge on Colback - just seconds after Mackie felt he had been brought down unfairly.

  100. 11

Mackie is screaming for a free-kick as he darts through a shaky Sunderland defence. He gets to the edge of the box and is brought down but Mike Jones waves play on.

  101. 10

Sunderland are enjoying a good spell of possession, McClean whips it in which Bendtner flicks-on but Young launches himself at the ball to deny Sessegnon at the far post. Good defending.

  102. 9

Anxious moments for the QPR defence at scores of appeals go up for a Taiwo attempt at a clearance - many thought it was handball in the box. Nothing given.

  103. 9

McClean runs at a back-pedalling defence and clips a ball into the box from the left, Ferdinand clears.

  104. 8

Kenny gets his foot on the ball to collect a back-pass and launches it up the field.

  105. 7

It's a bit of a game of chess at the moment, both sides trying to suss one another out. Neither side look like they will back down easily today.

  106. 7

Must be great news for Sunderland fans to hear of McClean's extended deal at the Stadium of Light, he's been a cracking talent so far this season.

  107. 6

McClean does his defensive duties well, nicking the ball off Young's toes to stop a delivery from the right flank.

  108. 5

Mignolet is getting a couple of early touches, mainly with his feet at the moment as the Black Cats are pegged in their own half by a dogged QPR outfit.

  109. 4

Colback looks very tidy in the centre of the park - Sunderland will be looking to him to provide the throughballs today.

  110. 4

Taarabt wins a free-kick under a clumsy Gardner challenge deep into the Rangers half.

  111. 3

QPR are pressing well, O'Shea's forced back into his own half whilst in possession. Good intent from the visitors.

  112. 2

Sessegnon is probably Sunderland's biggest goal threat today and he'll be hungry after coming back from suspension - Ferdinand will have a tough time on his hands I reckon.

  113. 1

Sunderland are looking bright, McClean shows his intent with a drive down the left channel - Young stops him in his tracks with a well-timed tackle.

  114. Sunderland get us underway!

  115. It'll be interesting to see how Cisse gets on today, he's in decent form for QPR and I'm sure Sunderland fans will remember his time at the Stadium of Light.

  116. We're just moments away from kick-off - ninth-place Sunderland and QPR in 17th step out of the tunnel ready for battle. Should be a meaty encounter this one!

  118. So there you have it. Sunderland's goal threat Stephane Sessegnon returns from suspension for the Black Cats with Lee Cattermole having just one more match to serve following his dismissal against Newcastle. Meanwhile Mark Hughes has opted to leave skipper Joey Barton on the bench following their midweek comeback against Liverpool as match-winner Jamie Mackie starts.

  119. Referee: Mike Jones

  120. QPR: Kenny, Young, Onuoha, Ferdinand, Taiwo, Taarabt, Derry, Diakite, Mackie, Zamora, Cisse. Subs: Cerny, Hill, Gabbidon, Bothroyd, Buzsaky, Barton, Wright-Phillips.

  121. Sunderland: Mignolet, O'Shea, Kyrgiakos, Turner, Bridge, Gardner, Vaughan, Colback, McClean, Bendtner, Sessegnon. Subs: Gordon, Campbell, Wickham, Kilgallon, Ji, Meyler, Elmohamady.

  122. The starting line-ups are in and it makes for interesting reading... more to follow.

  123. Meanwhile QPR have not had the best of times on their travels, winning just two points out of a possible 24. However the Rangers in the first-half have the highest proportion of goals in the whole of the top flight with a 50 per cent strike rate.

  124. The Black Cats have also won five and lost one of their seven Premier League games at the Stadium of Light under Martin O'Neill's leadership.

  125. A few match facts for you here: Sunderland remain unbeaten in their last nine games against QPR which includes six wins.

  126. Team news and information to follow - it's fair to say there's a slight bit of interest regarding if QPR skipper Joey Barton starts...

  127. Good afternoon and welcome to today's Premier League encounter between Sunderland and QPR. I'll be bringing you all the minute-by-minute action so email me your thoughts on today's game to: hayley.paterson@bskyb.com or Tweet me @HayleyP_11 and I'll put the best responses up here!
