FULL TIME: Wigan dominated for 90 minutes against West Brom but it was one of their former players who came back to haunt them as Paul Scharner popped up with the equaliser on 65 minutes after James McArthur had given the home side a deserved lead nine minutes into the second half.
SUBSTITUTION: Albert Crusat replaces Maynor Figueroa for Wigan.
SUBSTITUTION: Graham Dorrans replaces Jerome Thomas for Albion.
YELLOW CARD: And out of frustration, Callum McManaman is booked for bringing Paul Scharner crashing down.
SUBSTITUTIONS: And James McCarthy and Shaun Maloney are replaced by Mohamed Diame and Callum McManaman for the Latics.
SUBSTITUTION: Keith Andrews replaces Youssouf Mulumbu for Albion.
Rory Tweets me to say: "Mulumbu should have been sent off, however players are rarely shown red for those incidents nowadays, and thank goodness for that."
YELLOW CARD: And Mulumbu is booked along with Emmerson Boyce and Jerome Thomas, so three yellow cards in the space of a minute.
GOAL: Wigan 1 West Brom 1 (Paul Scharner 65).
YELLOW CARD: Albion skipper Chris Brunt is booked for a late tackle on Franco Di Santo now.
Karim emails me to say: "I really feel it for West Brom. From what it sounds like it looks like Wigan will pick up all three points. Roy Hodgson's team talk needs to work, and coming from a Villa fan that means alot."
YELLOW CARD: Former Latics man Paul Scharner is booked for a late challenge on Maynor Figueroa.
GOAL: Wigan 1 (James McArthur) West Brom 0.
Wigan are 15/8 to claim victory with SKY BET, who make West Brom 2/1 and the draw 11/8. My pre-match prediction of 2-2, which was 14/1 is now 25/1. Head now to www.skybet.com to place your bets.
HALF TIME: It's been a nil-nil massacre at the DW Stadium so far. Wigan have completely dominated the first period with Emmerson Boyce and James McCarthy both striking the crossbar. Franco Di Santo also missed a couple of glorious chances for the hosts. Albion boss Roy Hodgson will be happy his side are going into the dressing rooms with the score still goalless.
Keith Tweets me to say: "Shane Long to score a brace on Paddy's day." Why not hey Keith...good shout!
Albion fan Rory is the first to Tweet me this afternoon and he says: "We should always be looking for three points here, judging by the way we've been playing, but Wigan are in need of them too."
Let's have a quick look at the betting then and Wigan are 9/5 to claim victory with SKY BET, who make West Brom 7/5 and the draw 12/5. The Latics' Franco di Santo is favourite to bag the first goal at 7/1 while Shaun Maloney is a good outside bet at 10/1. James McCarthy is 13/2 to score in 90 minutes. Meanwhile, the Baggies' Shane Long is 6/1 to score first and Chris Brunt is 25/1 to bag a brace. James Morrison is 11/1 for the visitors while Youssouf Mulumbu is 22/1 to score first. I'm going for a pre-match prediction of 2-2, which is 14/1. Head now to www.skybet.com to place your bets.
