  1. Thanks for joining me this afternoon and for all your views and opinions. Stick with skysports.com for all the post-match reports and interviews

  2. A brave effort from Wigan, but they simply could not create a clear cut chance. Villa defended stoutly but you I expect the fans wanted a bit more from their attacking players.

  3. 90+7

Full time: Wigan 0 Aston Villa 0

  4. 90+7

Into the last minute, any chance of a winner??

  5. 90+5

At the other end Ireland wins a corner for Villa, but Di Santo does well to head the ball clear at the far post.

  6. 90+3

He hasn't done anything all day but Shay Given had to be very sharp there to push away Di Santo's low shot around the post. Top save.

  7. With six changes and a serious injury to Darren Bent, I suppose Kevin Friend has every right to add on so much stoppage time. Can either team take advantage though?

  8. 90+1

Seven (yes SEVEN) minutes to be added on.

  9. 90

N'Zogbia goes on a decent run down the left and wins himself a corner for Villa. Heskey is off balance with his header though and it goes over the bar.

  10. 89

Final change for Wigan as Albert Crusat replaces Victor Moses.

  11. 89

No is the answer, as Caldwell's header goes wide.

  12. 88

Up at the other end Moses wins ANOTHER corner for Wigan - can they get this one right?

  13. 88

Ireland is fouled 30 yards from goal, free kick to Villa. But Charles N'Zogbia fires it well over the bar.

  14. 86

Wigan are throwing at Villa at the moment. Moses chests down Cadlwell's cross from the left, Rodallega is on to it but his snap shot from 12 yards is straight at Shay Given - the first save he has had to make all day.

  15. 84

Chance straight away at the other end! Emmerson Boyce gets in a desperate tackle to stop Robbie Keane from getting a shot in on goal.

  16. 83

Oooh that was close! Hugo Rodallega spins expertly just inside the area and sends a left foot shot just over the bar. Great effort.

  17. 81

The Villa fans are making their feelings known about their manager - 'Sack McLeish' is the chant coming from the away section of the ground.

  18. 80

Sub for Wigan: James McCarthy is replaced by Mohamed Diame.

  19. 79

A sad sight as Darren Bent is stretchered off, he is replaced by former Wigan player Charles N'Zogbia.

  20. 77

The Villa physio indicates straight away that Bent cannot continue. This could be a huge blow not just for Villa but for England too.

  21. 76

Injury worry for Villa as Darren Bent goes down holding his ankle. The England man is writhing in agony on the turf.

  22. 75

Another change for Villa: Stephen Ireland is on for Gary Gardner.

  23. 74

Moses again break free down the right but he blazes his cross out for a goal kick.

  24. 70

Change for Villa: Emile Heskey is on for Marc Albrighton

  25. 70

That sums Wigan up. James McCarthy does really well to burst forward and run with pace, but with options right and left he can only pass straight to a Villa player.

  26. 67

You certainly cannot fault Wigan for effort, they are seeing plenty of the ball and desperately trying to create an opening. But they simply cannot turn possession into chances.

  27. 66

Here is the change: Hugo Rodallega is on for Jordi Gomez

  28. 65

Another yellow card for Villa, this time for Cuellar, who felt he was shoved by DI Santo near the touchline.

  29. 64

Hugo Rodallega is warming up on the touchline.

  30. 61

Good refereeing there by Kevin Friend. Alan Hutton fouled Moses on the half-way line but Wigan kept possession. Friend waved play on and the ball did not go out of play for nearly a minute. When it did, though, Friend walked over to show Hutton the yellow card.

  31. 60

Jean Beausejour puts in another Wigan corner, Alcaraz rises at the far post, but the ball loops wide of the goal.

  32. 57

At the other end Bannan sees a wild effort go well over the bar.

  33. 56

Wigan are screaming for a penalty after Di Santo sees his shot blocked by two Villa players inside the area. I think it would have been very harsh had the referee given it, the ball shot up from point blank range and brushed Gardner's arm. A second shot from Di Santo then hit Gardner's chest.

  34. 54

The game is going through a bit of a lull at the moment. I think that's the polite way of saying it.

  35. 50

Gomez flicks it on at the near post, it appears to be going just wide, but Bannan sticks out a leg anyway just to make sure and diverts it out for a throw in.

  36. 50

Jean Beausejour puts in a dangerous ball from the left that Collins just about deals with, slicing the ball over his own crossbar.

  37. 49

Gabriel Agbonlahor is booked for a clumsy foul on Gomez right in front of the referee.

  38. 47

Great chance for Villa! Bannan floats the free-kick towards the far post, Collins heads it back into the six yard box but Carlos Cuellar can only head it straight at Al Habsi from six yards, he has to do better there the Villa defender.

  39. 46

Di Santo loses possession in his own half before dragging Gardner to the floor, free-kick Villa.

  40. 46

Wigan get the second half underway.

  41. The Villa players are out already, wonder what was said at half-time.....

  42. It's not the worst 0-0 you will ever see, but it aint the best either. Both teams need to start turning possession into chances if they are to win this one. Let me know your thoughts during the half time break Tom.Mallows@bskyb.com or Tweet me @Tom_Mallows.

  43. 45+1

Half time: Wigan 0 Aston Villa 0

  44. 45

After Wigan fail to clear a free-kick, Robbie Keane find himself in space, but his overhead kick has too much on it and the ball goes over.

  45. 44

Villa are finishing half the stronger side, they are enjoying plenty of the ball inside the Wigan half.

  46. 42

Alan Hutton thinks he deserves a free-kick when he goes down on the edge of the Wigan box, referee Kevin Friend waves play on though.

  47. 40

Albrighton puts in a corner from the Villa left but neither Cuellar nor Collins can head the ball towards goal and if drifts out of play.

  48. 38

More lovely build-up play from Wigan, resulting in Jean Beausejour putting in a cross from the left that Cuellar heads away at the far post. You have to admire the way they try and play football, despite their lowly position in the table.

  49. 36

James Collins is booked for a wild, late tackle on Di Santo. Free kick Wigan just inside the Villa half.

  50. 35

Villa clear, but Wigan quickly win possession again. They are dominating the ball at present but need to make it count by creating some more chances.

  51. 34

Di Santo and Moses combine well again, forcing Hutton to put the ball out for a corner.

  52. 33

Maynor Figueroa has an effort from distance that goes well over the bar.

  53. 29

Gomez elects for the cross this time - bizzarrely - and Villa clear. The momentum is definitely with the hosts at present though.

  54. 28

Chaotic defending from Villa as Given comes all the way out of his area to head away, but it goes straight to a Wigan player! Villa successfully prevent a shot on goal but Albighton then fouls Moses on the edge of the box. Free kick Wigan and a booking for Albrighton.

  55. 26

While Villa have Keane, Wigan have Moses. He looks a really exciting prospect, always looking for the ball and keen to run at defenders with pace.

  56. 25

Another half-chance for Wigan as Gomez's inswinging corner falls just behind the onrushing Caldwell, who was unmarked at the far post.

  57. 25

Referee Kevin Friend has a word with Barry Bannan and skipper Gabby Agbonlahor, I think Friend didn't like something Bannan had said. No card though, just a ticking off.

  58. 22

That's a waste from Gomez. he goes for the direct shot and it blazes well over the bar, much to the frustration of the players who had gathered in the area waiting for the cross.

  59. 21

Carlos Cuellar handles the ball down the right flank, 15 yards from the touchline. Free kick to Wigan.

  60. 19

The pitch appears to be hindering both side's chances of playing a slick passing game, plenty of bumps and divets lurking here and there.

  61. 17

More patient play from Villa as Barry Bannan plays in the overlapping Warnock who fires an effort just wide.

  62. 16

Villa really will miss Keane when he departs, he is finding plenty of space inbetween the defence and midfield and always looks as though he can create chances.

  63. 15

Great save by Al Habsi!! Robbie Keane dinks in a fantastic pass with the outside of his boot towards the on-running Darren Bent, but Al Habsi does well to spread himself and block the shot away.

  64. 13

Keane nearly combined well with Albrighton on the edge of the box, but his through pass is just ahead of the young midfielder and Al Habsi goes down low to claim.

  65. 11

That Keane effort appears to have woken Villa up, they are enjoying a bit more possession than they did in the opening moments.

  66. 4

Jordi Gomez controls a flick on from Franco Di Santo but his volley from distance goes well over the bar.

  67. 3

Gary Caldwell showed great technique to volley the ball first time at the far post but the ball loops onto the roof of the net.

  68. 2

Moses does well down the left side of the area and forces a corner off James Collins.

  69. 2

4,000 Villa fans have made the trip north and they are making their voices heard early on.

  70. 01

Here we go, Villa kick us off....

  71. The Wigan players gather in a pre-match huddle before kick-off - will they get back to winning ways at home?

  72. Here come the two teams onto the field....

  73. Though it isn't a sell-out, there is a decent crowd building up inside the DW. Are Wigan set for another great escape? Are Villa going to haul themselves away from the bottom half of the table?

  74. Lots of love for the Villa out there, not hearing from too many Latics fans though. In true Delia Smith style - Where are you?! Lets be having you!

  75. Jimmy Davidson says: "Wigan, who are bottom, can't win today can they? Going for a 2-0 Villa win Bent and Albrighton."

  76. Yusef Donalala says via email: "Great to see Agbonlahor and Herd back. Will be sorry to see Keane leave as well. 3-1 to Villa. Bent, Keane and Agbonlahor."

  77. Robbie Keane bids his Villa farewells after this match, will he go out with a bang? Villa fans, what are your thoughts on the loan star? Do you want him to sign a permanent deal? Email me Tom.Mallows@bskyb.com or send me a Tweet @Tom_Mallows

  78. Wigan have won none of their last 10 Premier League games at home and they are 17/10 to change that statistic today. The draw is 9/2 and Villa are 8/5 to win, with Darren Bent favourite to open the scoring at 4/1.

  79. Fancy a flutter on the game? Coming up is some useful info from the lovely people at Sky Bet....

  80. So Latics & Villa supporters what do you think of those team selections? What about your side's chances in this game? Or your thoughts on your team in general? Let me know your thoughts via email tom.mallows@bskyb.com or via Twitter @Tom_Mallows. I will do my best to publish all the best views and opinions.

  81. Wigan meanwhile are unchanged from the team that won at Bolton a fortnight ago as they chase their first Premier League victory at the DW Stadium since August.

  82. Gabriel Agbonlahor is named as Aston Villa captain for the first time after Stiliyan Petrov was ruled out of today's clash with a thigh problem. It leaves the visitors badly stretched in central midfield, where Barry Bannan and Gary Gardner are expected to be paired together. Villa winger Charles N'Zogbia is only on the bench against his former club.

  83. The referee this afternoon is Kevin Friend (Leicestershire).

  84. Villa subs: Guzan, Ireland, N'Zogbia, Heskey, Weimann, Herd, Baker.

  85. Wigan subs: Kirkland, Crusat, Watson, Jones, Rodallega, Diame, Stam.

  86. Aston Villa: Given, Hutton, Collins, Cuellar, Warnock, Agbonlahor, Gardner, Keane, Bannan, Albrighton, Bent.

  87. Wigan: Al Habsi, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, Boyce, McArthur, McCarthy, Gomez, Beausejour, Moses, Di Santo.
