  1. Thanks for joining me for today's coverage, stick with for all the reports and reaction.

  2. A draw is probably the fair result in this one between two sides who didn't really do enough to deserve the three points. Villa were excellent after the break and put Everton under real pressure. The Toffees though finished the stronger after Anichebe's equaliser.

  3. 90+4

Full time: Aston Villa 1 Everton 1

  4. 90+4

Tim Cahill bursts forward but his shot from distance is wild and it goes well over.

  5. 90+2

Donovan goes down the left but his cross is easily claimed by Given with no-one around him.

  6. 90

There will be four minutes of time to be added on.

  7. 89

Deserved yellow card for Albrighton, who wildly took out Donovan in the centre circle as he was breaking away.

  8. 88

Sub for Everton: Denis Stracqualursi replaces Louis Saha.

  9. 88

Bilyaletdinov's first meaningful touch is a over-hit cross that goes straight into the arms of Given.

  10. 87

Another mad scramble as Villa struggle to clear their lines, they do though - just.

  11. 86

Everton break away again and Donovan feeds Anichebe, but the angle is tight and his shot is pushed around for a corner.

  12. 84

Change for Everton: Warm reception for Gibson as he is replaced by Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

  13. 82

All of a sudden it is Everton who are being pressed back into their own half. Moyes looks set to respond by bringing on Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

  14. 81

The corner is helped towards goal by Collins and the Bent, but Howard does well to punch the ball away.

  15. 80

Sub for Villa: The fans are on their feet as Robbie Keane replaces Warnock. It is a Villa corner too....

  16. 78

Saha goes down in the area under a challenge from Dunne, the appeals are mainly from the fans though and the referee says play on.

  17. 78

Just as I say that, guess who is coming on?

  18. 77

Still no sign of Robbie Keane, surely he is worth a ten minute run out?

  19. 76

For any fantasy football fans out there is was Landon Donovan who claimed the assist for the Everton goal.

  20. 75

It is the Everton fans who are the loudest now, with their Villa counterparts looking a little nervy. Still all to play for in this one though.

  21. 74

Albrighton has to take some responsibility for the Everton goal, he tracked Anichebe's run but then stopped, appealing for the offisde, allowing the striker to get in behind him and score the equaliser.

  22. 72

The Nigerian is back on his feet thankfully and hobbles onto the field, relief all round, though he still doesn't look 100%.

  23. 71

Worrying signs for Everton, Anichebe trys to keep the ball in but gets his studs caught in the turf and goes down holding his knee. Surely not another serious injury for the youngster??

  24. 69

From one end to the other. Villa's corner results in Ireland firing a shot straight at Howard, he immediately clears and the ball is played through to Anichebe, who cooly beats the offside trap to slide ball home.

  25. 69

    Goal for Everton!!! Anichebe!!

  26. 68

Another flowing move by Villa results in Albrighton's cross from the right being put behind by Neville, another Villa corner.

  27. 66

Whatever Alex McLeish said to his players at half time has worked - they have been much, much better in this second half.

  28. 65

The corner is taken short and Albrighton puts in a great curling cross that Agbonlahor heads over.

  29. 65

Another Villa corner isn't cleared and Hutton's shot is deflected behind.

  30. 64

Aston Villa just about scramble away an Everton corner and immediately break clear through Ireland who is only halted by a late challenge by Gibson. The free-kick into the box though is cleared.

  31. 60

Change for Everton:Victor Anichebe is on for Royston Drenthe - he has been poor today the Dutchman.

  32. 59

Another nice move plays in Hutton down the right but the full-back's cross is overhit and spoons out for a goal-kick.

  33. 58

That has woken the crowd up and all of a sudden Villa are sparying the ball round nicely, Ireland putting in a wonderful ball onto the head of Bent, but his effort is straight at Howard.

  34. 56

They have started the second half the better side and now have a precious lead. Albrighton's cross from the right isn't properly cleared, Ireland fires it back in and Darren Bent scrambles the ball home from 4 yards.

  35. 56

    Goal for Aston Villa!! Bent!!!

  36. 54

The corner is poor though and Howard can claim.

  37. 53

A lucky ricochet falls to Ireland down the right but his teasing cross is cleared by Duffy, Villa then put another ball into the box that Howard tips away for another corner.

  38. 52

There's a mad scramble at a Villa corner as Howard fails to hold the cross but the Toffees just about scramble the ball away.

  39. 49

Great save again from Given!! Another great delivery from Baines, Fellaini heads the ball towards goal at the far post but Given nonchalantly deflects the ball away with his shoulder!!

  40. 49

Villa give the ball away in midfield and Drenthe is sent sprinting clear only to be tripped by Collins. Free-kick to Everton 35 yards from goal.

  41. 48

Albrighton puts in a teasing cross from the right that beat Phil Neville, but Agbonlahor can't make anything of it at the far post.

  42. 46

A lot of you calling for Keane to be introduced, no movement on the bench as yet though. Will keep you posted.....

  43. 46

Here we go in the second half....

  44. Not the best game it has to be said, two chances apiece with Everton perhaps the happier of the two sides. Will the two managers make any changes at the break? Is the game crying out for Robbie Keane? Let me know your thoughts or @Tom_Mallows.

  45. 45+1

Half time: Aston Villa 0 Everton 0

  46. 45

One minute to be added on.

  47. 44

Baines and Drenthe combine down well the left but Drenthe's cross is just over the head of the onrushing Fellaini.

  48. 43

Duffy's hesitation lets in Agbonlahor down the left flank but his low cross is hit clear by Heitinga.

  49. 42

Good save Howard! Agbonlahor weaves into space 25 yards from goal and curls in a shot that Howard pushes round the post for a corner.

  50. 41

Warnock puts in a good cross from the left, Bent rises highest, but it goes well over the bar.

  51. 40

Nice move again by Everton down the left, but Baines' cross is too close to Given who claims comfortably.

  52. 37

Injury worry for Everton as Drenthe goes down holding his ankle. Villa play on though and Bent breaks free down the left, but his cross towards Albrighton has too much on it and the ball goes out for a goal kick.

  53. 36

Nice move between Saha and Donovan down the right, his cross towards Cahill though is well intercepted by Clark.

  54. 34

Fellaini is correctly booked for tugging back Ireland in midfield - he then risks further punishment by slamming the ball into the ground, Clattenburg takes it no further though.

  55. 32

Collins rises highest from the corner but he puts it over the bar.

  56. 31

That's better, Ireland's cross from the left is flicked on by Bent towards Albrighton at the far post but Drenthe tracks back and puts the ball out for a corner.

  57. 30

The crowd are very edgy here at Villa Park, Alex McLeish and his players need to do something to lift them.

  58. 28

Looking at the replays it is clear that Hutton fouled Saha and prevented him from heading the ball home from two yards. The Frenchman didn't appeal but it looks like a certain penalty and red card. Let off for Villa that.

  59. 27

Baines goes straight for goal but he gets too much on it and the ball goes over the bar.

  60. 26

Drenthe is tripped by Ireland on the right edge of the penalty area, free-kick to Everton. Villa hanging on a bit here.

  61. 23

Second later, Baines' cross from the left is headed towards his own goal by Stephen Warnock and Given does really well to push the ball away.

  62. 23

Chance for Everton!! A great run from Donovan down the right, he gets to the byline and puts in a teasing ball that is begging to be headed in at the far post. Saha though ducks out of the cross for some reason - replays suggest though that Hutton may have been tugging him back.

  63. 20

The game is stuck in the midfield at the moment, Everton as the away side will probably be the happier of the two sides.

  64. 17

Great save by Given!! Leighton Baines' free-kick from the left is curled with pace onto the head by Saha but Shay Given does fantastically well to react and push the ball away, the re-bound then manages to avoid an Everton player in the box and Villa clear.

  65. 15

Groans echo around Villa Park once more as Hutton over-hits across into the arms of Howard, he had four players to aim for there the full-back.

  66. 14

Gibson does really well to find Tim Cahill over the top of the Villa defence, but the Aussie is stretching and he can't fashion a shot on goal.

  67. 13

Landon Donovan threatens to break away down the right flank but Ireland once again does well to track back and put the ball out of play - he has had a good game so far the former Man City man.

  68. 12

The atmosphere has declined somewhat since kick-off, the home support seem to be waiting for their side to get them going.

  69. 11

Ireland's pass finds Hutton free in the area, he lays it off to Marc Albrighton but his shot is blocked and Everton clear.

  70. 10

Gibson's cross-field pass is intercepted by Ireland but the Villa move breaks down when Alan Hutton's slide rule pass is over-hit and goes out for a goal-kick.

  71. 7

Petrov curls the free-kick towards goal but Tim Howard gets across to his left to punch the ball away.

  72. 7

Darren Bent seizes on a loose ball but is cynically taken down by Johnny Heitinga. Free-kick to Villa, the Dutchman is lucky not to get booked there.

  73. 5

Stephen Ireland goes down after a clash of heads with Louis Saha. It was completely accidental though and the midfielder is ok to continue after a few minutes.

  74. 3

Villa enjoying the early possession, but it is mainly in their own half so far.

  75. 2

Darron Gibson is penalised for a foul on Petrov midway through the Toffees half. The free-kick into the box comes to nothing though.

  76. 1

The Everton fans have noticed who the referee is, a few choice chants aimed in his direction already.

  77. We are underway......

  78. Decent atmosphere inside Villa Park, both sets of fans making themselves heard.

  79. Here come the two teams onto the field......

  80. The two teams are in the tunnel, Everton wearing a snazzy silver third kit this afternoon.

  81. Gabriel Agbonlahor has scored six goals against Everton, more than versus any other opponent in the Premier League.

  82. Aston Villa have lost none of the last 11 matches against Everton (W4 D7 L0).

  83. Five of the last six meetings between Aston Villa and Everton have ended as draws.

  84. Some interesting pre-match stats coming up too, if you like that kinda thing.....

  85. Fancy a bet on the game? Here are what our friends at SkyBet think: "Everton are 2/1 to claim all three points at Villa Park, with the draw 23/10 and Aston Villa 11/8 to end their home struggles. Gabriel Agbonlahor has scored six goals against Everton and is 6/4 to score this afternoon and 11/2 to score first."

  86. The referee this afternoon is Mark Clattenburg. Why is that significant? Well the Tyne and Wear official has not taken charge of an Everton match since a tempestuous Merseyside derby encounter in 2007, where Everton had two men sent off, conceded a last minute penalty and felt they should have had one of their own soon after. Will Everton fans have forgotten? I think we all know the answer to that question......

  87. Villa fans, Everton supporters, what do you think of those line-ups? What are your thoughts on the two new boys? What are your hopes for the rest of the season? Let me know the answers to those very important questions via email or via Twitter @Tom_Mallows. I will do my very best to post your views and opinions.

  88. So Robbie Keane has to make do with a place on the bench upon his return to the Premier League. Villa can though welcome Shay Given back in goal after injury. Everton meanwhile give Darron Gibson a full debut just 24 hours after completing his move from Manchester United. Royston Drenthe is also recalled while youngster Shane Duffy makes his first ever Premier League start in defence.

  89. Everton subs: Mucha, Gueye, Vellios, Anichebe, Stracqualursi, Bilyaletdinov, McFadden

  90. Villa subs: Guzan, N'Zogbia, Keane, Delph, Bannon, Cuellar, Gardner

  91. Everton: Howard, Neville, Heitinga, Duffy, Baines, Donovan, Fellaini, Gibson, Drenthe, Cahill, Saha.

  92. Aston Villa: Given, Hutton, Warnock, Dunne, Collins, Clark, Petrov, Albrighton, Agbonlahor, Ireland, Bent.

  93. Two new signings on show today with Robbie Keane joining Villa on-loan from LA Galaxy and Darron Gibson becoming a Toffee from Manchester United - will they make their debuts today? Teams coming right up.....
