Feeney: Faces late test for Pilgrims

Feeney: Faces late test for Pilgrims

Team news for Tuesday's League Two clash between Plymouth Argyle and Bristol Rovers at Home Park.

Plymouth are sweating on the fitness of up to five players.

A crucial 1-0 victory over Shrewsbury moved Argyle out of the relegation places, albeit only on difference, but it came at a cost for Carl Fletcher's side.

Paul Wotton (back) and Nick Chadwick (knock) had to be replaced as their injuries flared up and they are not the only ones struggling to be fit.

Alex MacDonald had to make do with a place on the bench against Shrewsbury after being struck down with illness and he will be hoping to return to full health and the starting line-up.

Northern Ireland international Warren Feeney, who made his first start since returning from a calf injury, and Joe Lennox, making his first Argyle start, will be assessed after tiring at the weekend.

Bristol Rovers have no new injury worries as they prepare to travel south.

Lee Brown made his comeback from an ankle injury in the win over AFC Wimbledon and played 69 minutes before being replaced. Manager Mark McGhee will need to decide whether he can play two games in three days.

Wayne Brown is also back in training from his long-term ankle injury but the midfielder's target is only to return before the end of the season after such a long time out.

Goalkeeper Michael Poke is not yet ready for competitive action despite training after an ankle problem.

Defensive duo Gary Sawyer (hamstring) and Aaron Downes (knee cartilage) are definitely out.
