Alexander: Hits the winner for Crawley

Gary Alexander scored twice as Crawley twice came from behind to grab their first league win in eight matches, 3-2 over Port Vale.

Former Crawley forward Marc Richards broke the deadlock shortly after the half hour with a well-taken shot on the turn at the far post after a deep cross by Sean Rigg was miscontrolled by Town skipper Pablo Mills.

Midfielder Sergio Torres levelled three minutes before the break with a close-range header after being set-up skilfully in front of goal by Billy Clarke.

Vale were reduced to 10 men two minutes after the interval when Clayton McDonald received his second booking for a foul on Billy Clarke, but he visitors regained the lead against the run of play with Louis Dodds netting with a well-taken shot after Rigg had an effort parried by keeper Michel Kuipers.

Rigg failed to take advantage of a one-on-one opportunity before Alexander, on loan from Brentford, levelled by scoring at the second attempt with 20 minutes remaining.

Stuart Tomlinson twice denied Leon Clarke before Alexander hit the winner seven minutes from time with a close-range finish after being set-up by Leon Clarke.
