Macklin: Still sidelined

Team news ahead of Tuesday night's League Two clash between Torquay and Cheltenham at Plainmoor.

Winger Lloyd Macklin has not recovered from injury in time to be part of Torquay's squad.

Macklin missed Saturday's goalless draw with Northampton due to a calf problem and Tuesday night's match with the Robins has come too soon for the former Swindon man.

However, midfielder Danny Stevens will be available for Torquay manager Martin Ling after missing the weekend game.

Rene Howe came through 75 minutes of the Gulls' goalless draw with Northampton on Saturday without any problems and should start again against Cheltenham.

But defender Daniel Leadbitter will still have to wait for his Torquay debut as he is still not match fit after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Cheltenham welcome Marlon Pack back into their matchday squad.

Pack missed the home win against Macclesfield on Saturday after picking up a one-match ban for accumulating five yellow cards over the early weeks of the season.

But the talismanic midfielder is once again available for Mark Yates' Robins, who have a fully-fit pool of players to choose from at Plainmoor.

Jack Butland is expected to keep his place in goal after making his debut at the weekend. The young stopper is on a one-month loan from Championship outfit Birmingham.

Yates admitted he is wary of Torquay, saying: "We've had a very similar start to Torquay and we know they're a good side.

"We won't be taking anything for granted just because we beat them a few weeks ago."
