Purdie: Set for return

Team news ahead of Tuesday night's League Two clash between Hereford United and Aldershot at Edgar Street.

Rob Purdie and Stefan Stam will hope to be in contention for Hereford.

Midfielder Purdie has missed the club's last six games with a thigh injury, while defender Stam has played one match during that time due to a hamstring problem.

Both trained last week but failed to make Jamie Pitman's matchday 16 for Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Shrewsbury.

Joe Colbeck, who also resumed training at the same time, was a half-time substitute at the Greenhous Meadow and is pushing to start against the Shots.

On-loan Blackpool striker Tom Barkhuizen has also staked his claim for a starting berth having come off the bench at the break against Shrews to get the goal which handed Hereford a brief route back into the game.

Goalkeeper Adam Bartlett (thigh) continues to miss out.

Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth hopes to have a fully-fit squad after emerging from Saturday's 1-1 draw against AFC Wimbledon nursing a couple of minor niggles and bruises.

However, none are serious and Holdsworth is expected to once again have a full quota of players to select from.

Holdsworth made two changes for the clash as Danny Hylton grabbed a dramatic 95th-minute equaliser. Left-back Anthony Straker returned from a one-match suspension to replace on-loan West Ham defender Jordan Brown.

Meanwhile, midfielder Adam Mekki was drafted in to replace Peter Vincenti, who dropped to the bench. Both will hope to retain their places.

Alex Rodman recovered from a knock to be named among Holdsworth's substitutes and will be desperate to be involved again.
