Smalley: Set to return

Team news ahead of Tuesday night's League Two clash between Dagenham & Redbridge and Oxford United at Victoria Road.

Oxford welcome new signing Robert Hall into their squad for the game.

The 17-year-old West Ham striker has joined the U's on a month's loan and could feature against Daggers.

Defender Tony Capaldi remains sidelined with a back problem, while on-loan striker Jonathan Franks is at least three weeks away from a return to fitness after dislocating his shoulder last week.

Deane Smalley missed the weekend draw with Burton Albion due to a tooth infection but could come into consideration for selection in Essex.

Oxford assistant manager Mickey Lewis, meanwhile, is waiting for lady luck to start shining on his side.

"We are in a spell where we are playing some really good football, but sometimes things just don't go for you," Lewis said.

Captain Mark Arber and striker Jon Nurse are set to return to United's starting XI for the fixture.

Centre-back Arber returned to the bench for Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Rotherham following a back injury and a virus, as did Nurse after international duty.

Both came on at half-time as manager John Still made a double substitution in an attempt to reduce the two-goal deficit.

And the pair are expected to start this time around against the Us, with Phil Walsh and Billy Bingham the two expected to make way.

Still has no new injury or suspension problems to contend with but continues to battle a lengthy injury list.

Medy Elito (groin), Josh Scott (knee), Rob Edmans (fractured leg), Kevin Maher (metatarsal) and Luke Howell are long-term absentees.
