Sawyer: Missing man

Team news ahead of Tuesday night's League Two clash between Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury at Memorial Stadium.

Defender Gary Sawyer is the only man missing from Bristol Rovers' squad to face Shrewsbury.

Cian Bolger, Joe Anyinsah, Chris Zebroski and Adam Virgo were all included in the matchday 16 at Bradford on Saturday having each recovered from minor knocks.

And, with midfielder Matt Gill also back in training, Buckle is close to being able to select from a full complement of players.

The former Torquay boss is delighted to have got through the last few weeks.

He told the club's official website: "The injured players will be a lot better for having those 90 minutes under their belt, and we will now move on to Tuesday night.

"Gary Sawyer is still a bit stiff, so he is the only absentee, but everyone else should be ready for action."

Tom Bradshaw and James Collins will battle it out to replace the suspended Terry Gornell in attack for the Shrews.

Gornell was shown a straight red card just after the hour mark in Saturday's hard-fought 3-1 victory over neighbours Hereford and now starts a three-match ban.

It means manager Graham Turner must change his winning formula having kept faith with the same starting XI for five successive victories, aside from the Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Walsall in which he freshened up his ranks.

Both Bradshaw and Collins were named on the bench at the weekend having returned from Under-21s duty with Wales and the Republic of Ireland respectively.

However, that is likely to be the only change, with fit-again winger Jon Taylor as well as Steve Leslie and Connor Goldson competing to make Turner's matchday 16 having been left out against Hereford.

Former Shrews striker Matt Harrold is set to lead the line for Rovers following his summer switch to the Memorial Stadium.
