Oxford Utd v Burton Alb preview

Image: Constable: Could return for the U's

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Oxford United and Burton Albion at The Kassam Stadium.

In-demand Oxford striker James Constable is fighting to be fit for the visit of Burton. Constable, who has been the subject of interest from Bournemouth recently, is hopeful of recovering from a calf injury in time for the fixture. One U's forward who is definitely out of action, however, is Jonathan Franks. The on-loan Middlesbrough man dislocated his shoulder in midweek and will be absent for a minimum of four weeks. Defender Tony Capaldi (back) is three to four weeks away from a return, while striker Tom Craddock (knee) is facing a similar length of time on the sidelines. Peter Leven is available once again after missing the defeat at Crewe to be present for the birth of his child. Meanwhile, Burton boss Paul Peschisolido looks set to name an unchanged team after more bleak news on the injury front. Winger Cleveland Taylor (ankle) and striker Greg Pearson (toe) will again be missing and there remains a question mark over new signing Billy Kee. "Both injuries are taking longer to clear up than we had hoped," said Peschisolido. "Cleveland still can't join in training so it could be another week or more before he can be considered. "In Greg's case, it's a long process because toe joint injuries are notoriously slow to heal. I had a few in my time as a player and I know from experience they are really painful. "Greg has tried to do a few bits and pieces but he still can't kick a ball let alone take a tackle." Kee is back with Albion after international duty with the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad but the summer signing from Torquay is a doubt and will continue to be assessed by the club's medical staff after suffering mild concussion in his country's defeat in Serbia last Friday.
