Straker: In contention for derby clash

Straker: In contention for derby clash

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Aldershot and AFC Wimbledon at the Recreation Ground.

Anthony Straker returns into contention for Aldershot's derby clash at home.

The left-back missed last weekend's 1-0 victory over Cheltenham as he served a one-match suspension. However, he faces a battle to regain his regular spot after Jordan Brown, a deadline-day loan signing from West Ham, stepped in to make his debut.

Midfielder Anthony Pulis will be assessed having come on a second-half substitute against the Robins only to be forced off just eight minutes later due to injury.

Otherwise, manager Dean Holdsworth is expected to have a fully-fit squad for what promises to be a emotional encounter.

Former striker Holdsworth made his name as a player for Wimbledon in the 1990's before later returning for a brief second spell.

Meanwhile, current Dons boss Terry Brown returns to the EBB Stadium having managed Shots for five years between 2002 and 2007.

Meanwhile AFC Wimbledon will be without Charles Ademeno when they head to boss Terry Brown's former club.

The striker suffered an ankle injury in the warm-up prior to last weekend's 3-2 victory over Port Vale and has not recovered in time.

Brown will take an otherwise unchanged squad to The Rec to face the side he managed for five years.

Midfielder Christian Jolley is pushing to start after his goalscoring appearance as a substitute secured the Dons' first home win in the Football League.

Mat Mitchell-King is still on the sidelines after his ankle injury flared up again and fellow defender Fraser Franks is recovering from a long-term knee injury, although the Dons are hoping he will return next month.
