Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Torquay United and Macclesfield Town at Plainmoor.

Torquay will be without Billy Bodin as the Swindon loanee has been called up to the Wales Under-21 squad.

Chris McPhee, who has been deployed as a winger recently, could be asked to play in his preferred role as striker, with Taiwo Atieno being the only other fit forward following the sale of Billy Kee to Burton.

Rene Howe limped off with a grade one hamstring tear as the Gulls lost their Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash with Cheltenham on Tuesday and will definitely miss the game against the Silkmen.

"We hope it's not as bad as first expected," Martin Ling told BBC Radio Devon. "It might just be a twinge but whenever you grab a hamstring you tend to worry about it as a manager."

Young defender Daniel Leadbitter, on loan from Newcastle, should finally be available for selection following the hamstring injury which has so far prevented him from making his Football League debut.

Macclesfield are still missing a number of players through injury as they begin life without Emile Sinclair with a long trip to south Devon.

The highly-rated striker, 23, this week joined Championship outfit Peterborough on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

And Silkmen boss Gary Simpson is still without Waide Fairhurst (ankle), Paul Morgan (thigh) and Tom Fisher (knee ligament).

However, Colin Daniel played in a behind-closed-doors game this week and should be available.

Rookie defender Shaun Brisley also returned to training after being stretchered off during last weekend's 4-0 win against AFC Wimbledon.

Simpson, meanwhile, is considering a move into the loan market, saying: "The transfer window is only really shut for a week, and after that we have the option to use the loan market should we feel we need to."
