Townsend: Back from ban

Townsend: Back from ban

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Hereford Unired and Morecambe at Edgar Street.

Hereford boss Jamie Pitman is set to welcome back defender Michael Townsend.

Townsend missed the first two games of the campaign due to a suspension carried over from last season and is set to return to the side as they look to build on Tuesday's Carling Cup victory over Brentford.

Midfielder Nicky Featherstone has also missed the Bulls' first two matches due to a foot injury but he could be named in the squad on Saturday.

Pitman could be tempted to hand Yoann Arquin a start up front after he came off the bench to score a dramatic late winner against Brentford.

Goalkeeper Dan Connor (hip) remains a long-term absentee.

Morecambe manager Jim Bentley could have a selection headache.

Bentley enjoyed his first win as Shrimps boss on Tuesday with a shock 2-0 win at Barnsley in the first round of the Carling Cup.

Striker Phil Jevons should be fit again after missing the Oakwell victory and Bentley will have to decide whether to recall him or stick with midweek goalscorer Danny Carlton up front.

Winger Kevin Ellison marked a surprise appearance off the bench with a goal at Barnsley and should be on the bench again this weekend.

Andy Fleming also sat on the bench after suffering a recurrence of his ankle injury and is likely to remain there with Gary McDonald starting in midfield.
