Rashid Yussuff struck a spectacular second-half goal in a 2-0 victory at Dagenham to earn AFC Wimbledon their first-ever Football League win.

The Daggers made a positive start to the match and almost went in front through Jon Nurse after 13 minutes but his powerful half-volley from 20 yards crept just wide. Wimbledon were awarded a penalty after 37 minutes when referee Andrew Madley penalised Scott Doe for handball. Luke Moore made no mistake from the spot, sending goalkeeper Chris Lewington the wrong way. Dons doubled their lead just before the hour mark when Yussuff was allowed to carry the ball forward from midfield unchallenged and thundered a fierce effort past Lewington from 25 yards. The home side pushed for a goal but the Dons defence remained resolute with Jamie Stuart and Samuel Hatton both producing a series of blocks to deny Sam Williams, Oliver Lee and Jake Reed. At the other end, Wimbledon could have scored a third goal with 10 minutes to go but Stuart's header from Hatton's corner was blocked on the line by Nurse.
