Risser: Scorer for Robins

Paolo Di Canio's eagerly-anticipated start to management opened with a convincing 3-0 for Swindon over Crewe.

The flamboyant Italian, who attracted many headlines during his playing days in England, is charged with the task of guiding Swindon to immediate promotion from League Two following May's relegation.

And he got his tenure off to the perfect start in front of 8,248 fans at the County Ground.

Youngster Billy Bodin hit a post early on and the Wales Under-21s international was involved in the opener, which came on the stroke of half-time, having been brought down by Adam Dugdale in the penalty area. Callum Kennedy striking home the resulting spot-kick.

Town skipper and Namibia international midfielder Oliver Risser doubled their advantage shortly after the hour mark with a sweet drive from 30 yards.

It was left for defender Aden Flint to round off a successful afternoon for the home side when he connected with Raffa De Vita's left-wing cross to add a third from close range.
