De Camargo: Scored in 93rd minute
Borussia Monchengladbach moved a step closer to Bundesliga safety after a 1-0 home win over second-division VfL Bochum in the first leg of their relegation-promotion play-off.
Igor de Camargo dramatically scored the only goal with the last kick of the game on Thursday night to give Monchengladbach a slender lead ahead of the second leg in six days' time.
The goal came with an element of controversy as the Belgium striker tapped into the back of the net in the 93rd minute, when only two minutes of injury time had been indicated by the fourth official.
Referee Guenter Perl blew for full-time immediately after the goal, with the Monchengladbach players celebrating wildly, while Bochum were left distraught.
Having finished third from bottom of the Bundesliga last season, Monchengladbach must beat Bochum, who finished third from top of the second division, to guarantee their place in the top tier next season.
