Frankfurt lost their fifth match since the Bundesliga winter break as they suffered defeat at Nurnberg.
Schieber, Mak and Cohen earn Nurnberg the points
Frankfurt's problems increased on Friday night as they slumped to a fifth defeat since the Bundesliga winter break following a 3-0 loss at Nurnberg.
The failure to score also means that the visitors have now gone almost 550 minutes with scoring and have dropped to just four points off the relegation play-off position.
Frankfurt fell behind midway through the second half when goalkeeper Oka Nikolov misjudged a free-kick from Julian Schieber.
Nurnberg, who moved into the top six, then struck twice in the dying minutes to secure the points
Robert Mak well judged effort opened a two-goal lead in the 87th minute and on the stroke of full-time Almog Cohen smashed in a long-range effort to complete the scoring.
