Paul Buckle's play-off chasing Torquay made it three wins on the trot with a 1-0 win against Burton at Plainmoor.

Buckle's Gulls deservedly took a second-half lead thanks to the efforts of former Brewers central defender Guy Branston. Branston bundled Craig Stanley's 55th-minute corner from the right towards goal and fellow centre-back Chris Robertson forced the ball over the line at the far post. The goal sparked an intense spell of Torquay pressure, with Branston going close with a thumping shot and Chris Zebroski also seeing his effort go just wide of goal as the home side went in search of a second goal. The win was no more than United deserved, with Albion number one Adam Legdzins using his legs to brilliantly clear his lines in a frantic 41st-minute goalmouth scramble. Legdzins also denied Zebroski with another top-draw stop early on as the Gulls carried on where they left off following Saturday's 3-0 win at struggling Barnet. Calvin Zola looked Burton's most dangerous player and went closest to scoring for the visitors in the first half.
