Valiani: Missed penalty
Palermo booked their place in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia with a tense penalty shoot-out victory over Parma.
The hosts secured a berth in the last four of the competition courtesy of Francesco Valiani's failure from 12 yards.
Palermo had the better chances in the 120 minutes of normal and added time but neither side could find a way through and the match went to penalties.
Parma were made to pay for their decision to field a weakened side and even the introduction of striker Hernan Crespo in the second half could not spark them into action.
The remaining quarter-final ties see Sampdoria up against AC Milan, holders Inter Milan tackle Napoli and Juventus entertain Roma.
