  1. 90 + 4

ALL OVER: Stevenage record a famous FA Cup shock as the League Two club send Premier League Newcastle tumbling out of the competition with a 3-1 win in the third round. Revenge for their controversial elimination in 1998 and a pitch invasion follows. Who says the romance of the FA Cup is dead? Stay with us for all the post-match reaction.

  2. Winn makes sure there is no late comeback from Newcastle as he breaks the offside trap, beats Coloccini for pace and dinks a finish past Krul. Game over. Winn then makes way for Yemi Odubade.

  3. 90 + 3

    GOAL STEVENAGE (3-1)!!!

  4. Wonder goal from Barton from 30 yards as he sends a rocket past Day. Questionable goalkeeping from Day, but a brilliant goal from Barton. But it's too little too late...

  5. 90 + 2

    GOAL NEWCASTLE (2-1)!!!

  6. 90

ADDED TIME: There will be a minimum of four minutes added time before Stevenage can fully start their celebrations. Fans are already in party mood.

  7. 89

Airey has another attempt at goal, but his long-range shot goes well wide. 'We're going to Wembley', sing Stevenage fans.

  8. 89

Airey threatens to get his head to a cross at the back post, but it comes to nothing for Newcastle, who now look resigned to defeat.

  9. 87

Great third-man running and passing from Stevenage. You have not been able to tell the difference between Premier League and League Two this evening.

  10. 86

Bridges' first touch is a goal-bund volley, which Perch has to deflect for a corner.

  11. 85

Stevenage make their first change. Henry heads off as David Bridges comes on. Running down the clock.

  12. 83

Newcastle are now risking everything and look vulnerable to counter-attacks. Simpson does well to tackle back on Long.

  13. 82

We are on the brink of a huge cup upset here. A League Two club sending a Premier League team tumbling will sit high in the list of FA Cup fairytales.

  14. 81

Stevenage are cruising and look certain to be in the hat for the fourth-round draw. Newcastle really have not threatened.

  15. 80

Krul makes a real mess of dealing with a back-pass as he scuffs his kick. Luckily for the Newcastle goalkeeper, Simpson has good pace and can get back to challenge.

  16. 79

Barton sends the free-kick into the box and Day fumbles the fizzed cross. He is lucky that Ashton was there to hoof clear.

  17. 78

Pardew throws on teenage striker Airey in place of Lovenkrands at a free-kick.

  18. 76

Good defending by Laird at the back post as he heads a deep cross away for a Newcastle corner. Barton over-hits the set-piece.

  19. 75

More ironic cheers from the Stevenage fans as his attempted pass goes straight out for a throw-in. That sums up Newcastle's day.

  20. 73

Newcastle are struggling to get a touch of the ball, and that is not explained by the sending off. Stevenage have dominated the second half.

  21. 72

Barton is furious and is lucky not to talk his way into a booking.

  22. 70

Crunch! Tiote's short appearance is over after a lunging challenge on Ashton. He won the ball, but both feet were off the ball and it is a bit wild. Foolish. That is surely game over for Newcastle.

  23. 69

Lazy from Simpson as he is gifted the ball from a Stevenage throw-in, but only succeeds in a gentle side-foot back to the home side.

  24. 68

Routledge has to come back into his own half to get possession. That is not where they want their speedy winger.

  25. 66

Slight panic from Asthon when sending a high clearance back in the direction of his own goal. Laird tidies up and it is eventually a Stevenage goal-kick.

  26. Tiote has come on for Smith, who was poor and is probably likely to move elsewhere in the transfer window.

  27. 64

What a waste! Beardsley, unmarked, plants a header from a corner straight at Newcastle defenders. A third goal would not flatter Stevenage at the moment.

  28. 62

Pardew needs to make some changes. His midfield has not been effective. But he has limited options on the bench. Danny Guthrie or Cheick Tiote are not exactly match-winners.

  29. 60

Comfortable claim for Krul. It would be an incredible turnaround if Newcastle can come back to even earn a replay. Pardew's team has not played well.

  30. 59

    Corner to Stevenage.

  31. 57

Newcastle are all over the place. Coloccini goes in the book after being out-paced by Beardsley down the right wing.

  32. It's a screamer from Bostwick! After his sighter in the first half, the Stevenage man strikes a perfect 25-yarder. The ball pitches on its way past Krul to set the Lamex Stadium rocking.

  33. 55

    GOAL STEVENAGE (2-0)!!!

  34. 54

Newcastle really need to improve. They deserve to be behind. Replays suggest that Long's original effort at the goal was going well wide of the target.

  35. 52

Nolan almost fires an immediate response as he blasts at goal from the edge of the box. Day is required to brilliantly tip over the bar and Stevenage survive from the corner.

  36. Williamson was in the wrong place at the wrong time as Long cut in from the left and fired at goal. The ball took a huge deflection off Williamson and beat Krul. Magic of the Cup?

  37. 50

    GOAL STEVENAGE (1-0)!!!

  38. 49

Looks like Newcastle are trying to keep the ball on the deck and pass in the second half. But Stevenage are on the attack...

  39. 48

Nolan got up to take the free-kick, but the ball curled away from Coloccini at the back post and Stevenage were awarded their own free-kick.

  40. 47

Looks like Nolan has been pushed further forward after a reshuffle at half-time. Winn goes in the book for chopping down Barton.

  41. Newcastle have made a change at half-time. Best has gone off, with Ranger coming on.

  42. WE'RE BACK: Stevenage get the second half under way. 'More of the same' are likely to have been Westley's words at half-time. Can they go one better than the heroics in 1998?

  43. 45 + 3

HALF-TIME: A forgettable 48 minutes if the truth be told. Newcastle's decision to play long ball football has been baffling. Best does not stand a chance up front. Stevenage boss Westley will be very pleased with his players. Laird has looked lively. No goals at the break.

  44. 45 + 1

Another slip from Krul as he hits a long ball up field. Might be worth a change of studs at half-time.

  45. 45

ADDED TIME: There will be a minimum of three additional minutes before the half-time whistle.

  46. 44

Long passes to Beardsley, who has his back to goal on the edge of the Newcastle box. But his control lets him down and the ball bobbles straight to Routledge.

  47. 43

Barton's corner delivery only finds Stevenage defenders. #Notaclassic.

  48. 42

Henry over cooks it on the edge of the Newcastle box and the visitors can break. Corner to Newcastle.

  49. 40

Newcastle seem to have decided to try and beat Stevenage at their own game, with long balls straight from back to front. Best is getting no change out of the Stevenage defence.

  50. 39

Barton, who has not had an influence on the match, crosses from the left, but he does not beat the first man.

  51. 38

Calmly done by Coloccini has he uses a step over to get away from Beardsley on the edge of the Newcastle box. The Argentine should not get over confident, there is a lot of unexpected bounce in the pitch.

  52. 37

Great support for Stevenage. Their fans have not stopped singing.

  53. 36

Laird, who is having a good game, bursts forward and crosses to force Krul to save and Williamson to poke the ball out for a corner. Best heads the resulting set-piece clear at the near post.

  54. 34

Aimless volley up field from Nolan and Best misjudges the bounce to give possession back to Stevenage. That is the story of the match in a snap shot, I'm afraid.

  55. 32

Routledge charges forward on a counter-attack from the corner. Mousinho, though, takes one for the team as he tugs back the Newcastle winger and becomes the first Stevenage player to be booked.

  56. 31

Best chance of the match so far. Krul is forced into a low, diving save to his right following a Bostwick 25-yarder. Good stop and Newcastle clear the corner.

  57. 30

Newcastle clear as Stevenage again over-hit a cross from the corner. That has been a trend of the match.

  58. 29

It's a tough task for Beardsley this evening as he is taking on the Newcastle defence single-handedly at times. But he does well and Stevenage eventually win a corner.

  59. 28

Lovenkrands is not at the races today. Routledge led a counter-attack, but his team-mate failed to control the ball and gave away a throw-in.

  60. 27

Booking for Best after a flailing arm in an aerial challenge with Laird.

  61. 26

Stevenage will be pleased so far. They have been chasing the ball at times, but Newcastle have not really got behind their hosts' defence.

  62. 24

Beardsley does well to get to the byline and squeeze out a cross from a long ball. But the Stevenage forward was off balance and under a challenge from Coloccini, which could easily have been a foul, to mean the attack fizzles out.

  63. 23

Panic stations in the Newcastle box as a Wilson run has Coloccini back-pedalling. A combination of Williamson and Nolan eventually stop the attack. Stevenage are screaming for a penalty, but there is nothing in it.

  64. 21

A nice bit of triangular passing from Stevenage in midfield, but then the ball goes back to Ashton and his smashed pass up field sails out for a throw-in.

  65. 20

Predictably, it is all a bit scrappy. Lots of long balls. Roberts is going off the pitch for Stevenage to receive treatment on a bleeding nose.

  66. 18

Smith goes in the book for Newcastle after a poor challenge. He dived in on Long when the ball was not there to be won and correctly goes in the book. Henry's free-kick is out of reach of Ashton and it is a Newcastle goal-kick.

  67. 17

Clear tactics from Newcastle to get the ball to Routledge as quickly as possible the right winger looks like he is a definite threat to Stevenage. His pace is causing problems. is back on the field.

  68. 16

Newcastle survive the resulting free-kick with ease and Long is back on the field.

  69. 15

Nolan receives a ticking off from referee Andre Marriner for a late, sliding challenge on Long inside the Newcastle half.

  70. 14

A 'to me, to you' moment between Routledge and Best as Newcastle continue to set the early tempo. The former passes to the latter, but he leaves the ball and it trickles out for a goal-kick.

  71. 13

Ironic cheers ring around the Lamex Stadium as Barton attempts a 30-yard volley. But his left-footed effort flies well wide of Day's goal.

  72. 12

Routledge sends a cross in from the right looking for Lovenkrands. The Newcastle forward cannot get the ball and goes down inside the 18-yard area, but there are no appeals for a penalty.

  73. 11

Breakdown in communication as Barton's delivery goes to the back post, where there are no Newcastle players. Long puts the ball out for a throw to the visitors.

  74. 10

End-to-end stuff. Newcastle go straight up the other end and win their own corner. Barton to take.

  75. 9

Corner to Stevenage. Winn whips the ball in from the right and Wilson gets his head to the ball. He gets it on target, but there is no power.

  76. 8

Barton crosses the free-kick into the danger zone. But Ashton gets a strong header to the ball and Stevenage clear.

  77. 8

Routledge again does well down the right and forces a foul from Laird. A chance now for Newcastle to deliver into the box.

  78. 6

Stevenage survive the corner and clear their lines. It is long ball stuff from the home side whenever they have a chance.

  79. 5

Newcastle build up from the free-kick and Routledge can cross to the back post where Barton's volley forces Day to save for a corner.

  80. 4

Barton is being booed with every touch. But the Newcastle man wins a free-kick on the halfway line after a challenge from Wilson.

  81. 3

Krul slips as he launches a kick up field. The ground is greasy and there could be a few mistakes.

  82. 2

After a bit of a delay, Nolan is back on his feet and looks okay. The ball is back with Stevenage goalkeeper Day. His long punt up field goes straight through to Krul.

  83. 1

Ouch! Bostwick blasts the ball straight into the face of Nolan in midfield. On a cold day that is going to hurt. The physios are on.

  84. KICK-OFF: Newcastle get the game going and Nolan rolls back to his defence.

  85. Nigel Milburn says: "I hope Alan Pardew is not under estimating stevenage we've struggled here before."

  86. Here come the teams! Kick-off is just minutes away.

  90. 17.15

Alan Shearer scored two goals to win the replay, but this time Pardew has main strikers Andy Carroll and Shola Ameobi ruled out through injury. Leon Best, who marked his first Premier League start for the club with a hat-trick against West Ham, retains his place as Pardew uses the depth of his squad, with Alan Smith and Joey Barton in midfield, in a bid to prevent an FA Cup shock against a side managed by Graham Westley, whose cup pedigree includes taking Farnborough Town to Highbury for a fourth round tie against Arsenal in 2003.

  91. 17.14

Newcastle famously visited Broadhall Lane - now known as the Lamex Stadium - in January 1998 for a fourth round tie which ended 1-1 with then non-league Stevenage.

  92. 17.13

Manager Alan Pardew makes five changes from the Newcastle starting side which trounced West Ham in midweek but still fields a strong team against League Two Stevenage.
