A blistering opening half-hour from Yeovil clinched three welcome points as they recorded a 3-1 home win over Tranmere.
Boosted by the arrival of loan signing Gavin Williams, the hosts scored three goals to leave Rovers struggling in Saturday's League One clash at Huish Park. They took the lead after seven minutes when a poor clearance was picked up by Dean Bowditch and he raced through to beat advancing goalkeeper Joe Collister from outside the area. Two minutes later and Yeovil added a second when a long throw-in was flicked onto the far post where Andy Welsh was on hand to score from close range. Yeovil's third followed in the 27th minute after a free-kick on the right by Andrew Williams found its way to Paul Huntington, who again scored from close range with the Rovers defence all at sea. The visitors never gave up, though, and had some scant reward in stoppage time when Ian Thomas-Moore converted a penalty after a foul by Huntington.
