Two goals in a three-minute spell just before half-time set Carlisle on the way to a comprehensive 4-1 win over MK Dons.

Francois Zoko and James Berrett netted the goals in the first period before Gary Madine and Tom Taiwo added two more after the break before Peter Leven provided the visitors with a consolation strike. A niggling first-half permeated by a series of free kicks burst into life just before the interval when Zoko fired Carlisle into the lead with a 12-yard volley after Madine had headed Berrett's left-wing corner back across the area. Dons' manager Karl Robinson was sent to the stands by referee Mark Haywood in an ensuing touchline argument. Carlisle doubled their lead in first-half added time when full-back Frank Simek's chip forward was nodded down by Madine and Berrett stole in to sweep the ball home first time from eight yCarlisle did not have long to wait for their third goal after half-time. Zoko and Berrett were involved in providing the 55th-minute opportunity for Madine to slot the ball home from 12 yards. ards. Zoko's brilliance had the Dons defence in a tangle as Carlisle went further ahead in the 60th minute and when Madine pulled the cross back towards the penalty spot Taiwo was on hand to supply the finish. Leven provided some relief for Dons in the 64th minute when he drilled a low 35-yarder past Collin into the bottom left-hand corner.
