Kevin Nicholson snatched a point with a last-gasp equaliser for 10-man Torquay as they earned a 1-1 draw at Gillingham.
Nicholson drilled home a free-kick with the last kick of the game just as the Gulls looked set to lose to Cody McDonald's late strike. Both sides looked to attack from the off and within the opening 10 minutes both Romone Rose and Joe Oastler had goalbound efforts blocked for the visitors, Jack Payne going close for the Gills. Into the second half and Chris Zebroski was inches from giving Torquay an immediate lead, his volley rattling the crossbar. Neither side looked as though they could break the deadlock after that, but that all changed with 80 minutes gone, McDonald volleying home Danny Spiller's cross seconds after Adebayo Akinfenwa had headed against the bar. Torquay also saw Lee Mansell dismissed for simulation before Nicholson's heroics.
