The full time whistle goes. South Africa will be devastated. Uruguay were far the better team all night. Finished with a good team goal. Forlan was brilliant. He might be a good shout for the golden boot. Thanks for joining me tonight. Hope you enjoyed it. Commiserations to the hosts, they need a miracle to get to the last 16. Goodnight!
Perez is off for Gargano as Uruguay waste some time.
Cavani is replaced by Fernandez for Uruguay.
FORLAN GETS HIS SECOND!
Off goes Pienaar for Josephs. It's a bizarre decision. Surely no chance now for the hosts.
Disaster for South Africa. Khune is off and he can't have any complaints. He was the last man. That looks to be that.
Uruguay build pressure and try a few shots. Suarez gets a lucky deflection and goes around Khune before going down. The penalty is given.
Fernandez is on for the injured Fucile for Uruguay.
Letholonyane has gone off for the more attack minded Moriri.
"I have officially been dubbed by my work colleges as ESPN since I just do NOT stop watching this web page's commentaries... but since I'm bored..... what the hell!?!?!?!?!. 1-0 to Uruguay" Zor Ortiz in Puerto Rico.
"I'm on a rig in the middle of the Black Sea and people are keeping in the spirit of things with vuvuzelas sounds on their mobiles and blasting it over the radios and PA system. Uruguay to win 2-1...ish." Carl Edwards
Don't forget if you have any views on the game or predictions of the outcome send me your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org. Cheers.
The whistle goes dead on 45 minutes. no stoppage time. South Africa go in down but not out in this one. Uruguay deserve their lead and Forlan's goal was a worthy one. Forlan has been excellent, and if Uruguay are to go far, it'll be down to the performance of their main man.
Dikcagoi is booked for a foul on Suarez. He'll miss the last game against France in Bloemfontaine. That's a big loss for South Africa.
FORLAN SCORES THE OPENER!
No result. Pienaar charges out way too early and stops it with his hand. Deservedly booked. Retake.
"I reckon the hosts tremondous support will carry them victorious through this match. Expect to see Tshabalala add to his goal tally so far and take an early lead in the chase for The Golden Boot!" from Rob Styles. Are you the Rob Styles? As in the referee Rob?
"I fancy Diego Forlan to score 1st and Uruguay to win 2-1." Graham from Glasgow.
If you're fancying a bet on tonight's encounter. South Africa are 2/1 to emerge victorious. Uruguay are 11/8 to beat the hosts and a draw is 15/8. Siphiwe Tshabalala is 8/1 to repeat his feat of the opener by scoring first, whilst Diego Forlan is 8/1 to grab a brace if he's on his game.
