Promotion hopefuls Rochdale secured a play-off place by coming from behind to draw 1-1 at Luton.

The Hatters are preparing for life in the Blue Square Premier next season following their relegation earlier this month but bossed the first half with Ian Henderson, Kevin Gallen and Asa Hall all going close to breaking the deadlock.

They took a deserved lead after 33 minutes when Tom Craddock blasted home from the penalty spot after Nathan Stanton had pushed Chris Martin in the area.

But an inspired half-time switch by Keith Hill helped Rochdale earn a share of the spoils - Joe Thompson promptly crossed for fellow substitute Adam Rundle to level matters with a clinical finish after 56 minutes.

The visitors continued to press and Rundle played in Adam Le Fondre but Dale's leading scorer wastefully blasted over.

He almost made amends in the final minute only for Luton goalkeeper Dean Brill to save his close-range shot.
