  1. The match ends and Arsenal move to within two points of Manchester United. Hull are 16th as their four-match unbeaten run is brought to an end. Thanks for joining me tonight. Cheers.

  2. 90+4

Vela receives the ball from Walcott in the area and he shapes to turn, but then lays the ball off to his team-mate whose wayward shot is the final act in an entertaining match.

  3. 90+3

Although Hull haven't stopped fighting, they will be eager for referee Bennett to bring this match to an end.

  4. 90+2

Olofinjana is booked for a reckless stamp on Song's foot.

  5. 90+1

Hull haven't given up and Cousin beats Vermaelen in the air, gets his head to Hunt's cross but fails to guide his effort on target.

  6. 90

Vela's wondeful backheel sets Silvestre on his way and he lays the ball off to Ramsey. His lovely shot from range flies just wide of the mark, much to the relief of Myhill.

  7. 89

There will be four minutes of optional time.

  8. 88

At the other end Walcott times his run perfectly and beats Gardener to the ball. Myhill is forced to rush off his line and Walcott lofts the ball over the Hull 'keeper only to see his effort bounce just wide of the upright.

  9. 87

Vermaelen heads clear a Hull cross and Hunt his the rebound on the volley. Almunia makes a sharp save to deny the shot though.

  10. 86

The Gunners pass their way into the final third but then Olofinjana wins the ball. However, the energetic Ramsey wins the ball back only for Silvestre to botch his cross.

  11. 85

Cousin is caught offside and Arsenal stroke the ball about in their own half.

  12. 84

The Song/Diaby combination has wreaked havoc in midfield in the second stanza, Hull have had no answer to the pair's power and guile.

  13. 83

Hunt's persistence almost pays off as the ball is lofted into the area and he fights his way through the Gunners defence. But the Irishman just fails to reach the ball.

  14. 82

Hull win a free-kick in the centre circle as they look for a consolation goal.

  15. 81

That assist was Arshavin's last act as he is replaced by Carlos Vela.

  16. 80

That goal will allow Arsenal to cruise through the final ten minutes.

  17. 79

GOAL DIABY! Hull push forward only for Walcott to counter. The young winger takes his time on the ball though and just as it seems the Tigers have re-organised, Diaby and Song share passes and give the ball to Arshavin. He plays a beautiful ball through the centre for Diaby who continues his run and although Myhill gets a touch, he finds the back of the net to make it 3-0.

  18. 77

Time is running out for Hull whose first-half showing was especially impressive.

  19. 75

Eduardo is replaced by Theo Walcott.

  20. 75

Silvestre goes looking for a rare goal. Unsurprisingly he side-nets.

  21. 73

News flash:> In case you haven't heard, Roberto Mancini has taken over at Man City.

  22. 72

Ramsey's sloping pass catches Hull square and Eduardo runs in behind the defence. But instead of looking for Arshavin, he somewhat greedily shoots. And that turns out to be a poor decision because the effort is off target.

  23. 71

Not for long though because Diaby wins a corner off Myhill, who redeems himself by collecting the ensuing set-piece with ease.

  24. 70

Ramsey's first touch is a good one that frees space for Arshavin who sends the ball to Eduardo. The Croat tries a give-and-go for Arshavin but it is a loose pass and the attack peters out.

  25. 69

Hull have lost their shape in the last 10 minutes or so and this is giving Song freedom in the middle third.

  26. 68

Wenger has made his first change. Aaron Ramsey enters the fray at the expense of Nasri.

  27. 67

Song's shoddy touch means Hull win the ball in midfield. Hunt looks to attack down the wing and he slides the ball in for Dawson. However, Arsenal read the move and cut out the attack.

  28. 66

Arshavin decides to dribble to the byline and Zayatte shadows him and shepherds the ball out for yet another goal-kick.

  29. 65

The Londoners are on the rampage as Song bursts forward again and plays the ball to Silvestre who in turn feeds the ball to Arshavin. The Russian knocks the ball on for Silvestre but unluckily for the hosts the ball trickles out for a goal-kick.

  30. 64

Arsenal go all the way back to Almunia as Hull's attackers press Gallas and company.

  31. 63

The set-piece is wasted by Nasri though and Hull clear.

  32. 62

Arsenal win a corner as McShane fails to keep the ball in play.

  33. 61

How Brown and Hull must rue that penalty miss from Geovanni.

  34. 60

Daniel Cousin is introduces, Garcia is the man to make way.

  35. 59

GOAL EDUARDO! Arsenal score a trademark goal after Song and Diaby toy with Hull and pierce through the Hull defence with a brilliant passing move. Then Diaby pushes to the byline and knocks the ball across the face of goal and Eduardo stabs the ball past Myhill.

  36. 57

Geovanni dribbles goalwards as he looks to atone for his penalty miss and Song makes a fine tackle to end the attack.

  37. 56

Almunia makes a dramatic save by diving to his right to block Geovanni's effort. Three Hull players try to reach the rebound first but Arsenal get out of jail there!

  38. 55

The French defender is booked for his indiscretion.

  39. 55

Silvestre concedes a soft penalty after tugging Fagan's shirt in the box.

  40. 54

The home crowd has responded in the second half as their team pushes forward. The decibel level has certainly increased.

  41. 53

After another wave of attack from Arsenal, Myhill takes charge and catches Nasri's cross to relieve the pressure.

  42. 52

Arshavin twists and turns his way past a couple of defenders and his cross for Eduardo requires a strong header from Gardener for Hull to clear the danger.

  43. 51

There's some typical Arsenal build-up play but Hunt eventually wins the ball for the Humbersiders. I mean Tigers..

  44. 50

Olofinjana is dispossessed by Song just as the Nigerian shaped to shoot.

  45. 49

The second half has started at a furious pace!

  46. 48

The Gunners then have a penalty shout turned down as Diaby's shot hits Zayatte on the arm.

  47. 47

At the other end Arsenal come close to doubling their lead. Arshavin skips past his marker and crosses into the middle. Eduardo picks up the ball but his shot is wide of the target.

  48. 46

Hull create a chance, albeit a scrappy one as Geovanni's cross releases McShane who drives to the byline. His cross finds Hunt in the box but the winger just can't get a shot away.

  49. 45

Brown has made his first change: Barmby makes way for Seyi Olofinjana just before Arsenal start the second half.

  50. And onto more serious matters. Hull are 40/1 to win this match according to Sky Bet.

  51. So Arsenal took the lead under controversial circumstances. Find out if Hull can launch a fight back when the action resumes in a few minutes' time.

  52. 45+4

Just to confirm, Boateng was booked for the challenge on Diaby that led to the goal.

  53. 45+4

GOAL DENILSON! The Brazilian's execution over the dead ball is sublime and his shot from some 30 yards beats Myhill who fails to make contact with the ball after diving to his right.

  54. 45+3

Then Boateng concedes another free-kick in a dangerous area by fouling Diaby. The Tigers are incensed by that decision and dispute it...to no avail of course.

  55. 45+2

Zayatte is booked for a clumsy challenge on Vermaelen - it's degenerated somewhat and the half-time break can't come soon enough

  56. 45+1

Replays of the incident a moment ago show Garcia going down with Nasri in close proximity to him. Not sure if there was too much in it though.

  57. 45

In the absence of Cesc Fabregas Nasri takes the set-piece which is smashed straight into the wall.

  58. 44

Nasri and Hunt were involved in the squabble and the pair get a talking to from the referee who also books the pair.

  59. 43

A massive scuffle then breaks out as Bennett awards the free-kick to Arsenal.

  60. 42

Arsenal win the ball back and at the other end, just outside the area, Arshavin is tackled from behind by Geovanni.

  61. 41

Myhill punches clear and the Tigers counter through Geovanni.

  62. 40

So they try another attack down the left and Arshavin's perfectly-weighted cross finds the head of Song who dives in and makes a decent connection. There's a deflection off a Hull defender though and Arsenal win a corner.

  63. 39

Arsenal have failed to get into the final third and are still having to pass the ball in front of the Hull back four. There is just no way through at the moment.

  64. 38

Hull counter through Geovanni whose cross for Dawson causes a moment of panic in the Arsenal ranks. But Gallas makes a timely intervention.

  65. 37

Silvestre and Diaby look to push into the box but the excellent Dean Marney is having none of it and pilfers the ball.

  66. 36

There is a collective sigh at the Emirates as Eduardo's pass for Eboure is misplaced.

  67. 35

We're into the last 10 minutes of the first half - it hasn't been a classic to be honest.

  68. 34

Song gives the ball away cheaply but Garcia returns the favour.

  69. 32

Eboue is also enjoying some space on his flank. But Wenger will again be disappointed by the delivery that flies out for a goal-kick.

  70. 31

Diaby threads the ball to Arshavin's feet in the box and the Russian's attempted chip is hacked clear by Zayatte.

  71. 30

Hull have been pinned deep in their own half for a few minutes now as the Gunners ratchet up the pressure.

  72. 29

It's all Arsenal now and Eduardo shows his body strength to hold off Boateng and drive into the area. His give and go with Nasri almost gives the hitman time and space for a shot but in the end the ball rolls through for Myhill to collect.

  73. 28

Denilson's through pass is just too weak for Arshavin who had made a lovely run into the area.

  74. 27

Arshavin takes on Zayatte and the defender dispossesses the Russian and concedes a throw-in on the far side.

  75. 26

Eduardo's set-piece is cleared as far as Vermaelen and he sends the ball back into the mixer but Silvestre can't direct the ball on target.

  76. 25

Eboue wins Arsenal a corner as his cross hits Fagan and goes out.

  77. 24

Arsene Wenger will be a little more content with his team as they enjoy a decent spell.

  78. 23

Eduardo finds some space on the fringes of the area thanks to a fine pass from Eboue. The Croatian striker attempts a curling shot that flashes just wide of the upright.

  79. 22

Diaby shrugs off a couple of tackles and shares a one-two with Eboue. The French midfielder then tries an audacious backheel in the box but it doesn't find its way through to one of his team-mates

  80. 21

Phil Brown will be delighted with the way the opening 20 minutes have unfolded.

  81. 20

Diaby releases Silvestre down the left channel and his first time cross is once again out of the reach of Arshavin et al. Arsene Wenger might want to rethink that tactic.

  82. 19

Song gets a talking to from the ref after pulling down the influential Geovanni.

  83. 18

Silvestre's long ball is too long for Arshavin who has struggled to get into the game thus far.

  84. 17

Geovanni wins a free-kick in midfield after a scrappy period of play that Hull waste by trying to take it too quickly.

  85. 15

There's a bit of a flashpoint as Stephen Hunt is ruled offside when he was clearly onside. Hunt then collides with Almunia who doesn't take kindly to the contact.

  86. 14

Arsenal are starting to hit their straps. Nasri is set-up by Eduardo after good play by Song but the Frenchman's shot is hit straight at Myhill.

  87. 13

Arsenal win a corner that Nasri whips in and again Hull's well-organised defence have no trouble clearing.

  88. 12

But then the Gunners carve out a half chance when Eboue and Nasri combine on the right flank. The Ivorian's cross, however, is too close to Boaz Myhill.

  89. 11

Diaby and co. are struggling to win the ball against Hull's combatitive midfield.

  90. 10

Geovanni turns beautifully on the right but his cross doesn't match his ball control and Arsenal have a goal-kick.

  91. 8

The hosts have yet to find their rhythm and Hull are defending deep and in numbers.

  92. 7

Mikael Silvestre's cross from the left is cut out by the towering Anthony Gardner.

  93. 6

Arsenal push into the Hull half after being pegged back in their defensive third for a couple of minutes.

  94. 5

Hull win a free-kick but Almunia gathers comfortably despite pressure from Kamil Zayatte.

  95. 4

Remember Hull beat Arsenal at the Emirates last season and have started quite well as they seek a repeat of that result.

  96. 3

Craig Fagan has the first shot at goal but he fires wide of the mark from outside the area.

  97. 2

Thomas Vermaelen gets a few early touches as the hosts look to build from the back. And for an extended spell the Gunners pass the ball around with menace on the fringes of the Hull area before the visitors win the ball.

  98. 1

The visitors get the match underway and attack immediately down the right through Richard Garcia and Paul McShane, but Arsenal eventually clear their lines.

  99. Hull are 14/1 to win this one but perhaps a better punt would be on Andrei Arshavin to open the scoring at 7/2.

  100. Pre-match: Denilson returns to the Arsenal side for the clash with Hull at the Emirates Stadium. The Brazilian midfielder missed the trip to Burnley with a back injury but is back in the starting XI in place of the injured Cesc Fabregas. Coach Arsene Wenger has made two other changes to the side that draw 1-1 at Turf Moor in midweek - Emmanuel Eboue and Eduardo both start with Bacary Sagna and Theo Walcott dropping to the bench. Hull have made one change from the team which drew with Blackburn, with Nick Barmby replacing Dean Marney.
