Southampton came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with fellow strugglers Norwich in Mark Wotte's first game in charge.
Norwich looked to be heading for a second win under Bryan Gunn after they raced into a 2-0 lead with first-half goals from skipper Mark Fotheringham and Wes Hoolahan.
Southampton responded in the second half and substitutes Kayne McLaggon and Marek Saganowski found the net to secure a priceless point.
Norwich were handed a good opportunity after 14 minutes when Paul Wotton fouled Hoolahan 20 yards out, but Sammy Clingan's free-kick failed to clear the Saints wall.
The first real chance of the game came in the 28th minute as Hoolahan turned sharply in the box before firing in a left-footed shot which was well parried by Kelvin Davis in the Southampton goal.
Shortly afterwards Wotte was forced to make a change as Lee Holmes limped off to be replaced by McLaggon.
Opener
Norwich then took the lead after 40 minutes when Fotheringham side-footed home from Jamie Cureton's cross and two minutes later they were two ahead as Hoolahan fired a magnificent shot into the top-left corner from all of 30 yards.
With the visitors in total disarray, Cureton forced Davis into a further save and Gary Doherty had a header cleared off the line by Lloyd James as the opening period drew to a close.
Southampton started the second half brightly, with Lee Molyneux and McLaggon both seeing shots whistle over the crossbar from long range.
Jonathan Grounds then headed wide for the hosts following a deep cross from Clingan, before the Saints were given a lifeline in the 57th minute.
Norwich failed to fully clear the ball following a corner from Simon Gillett and the ball fell to McLaggon, who drilled the ball past David Marshall via the aid of a slight deflection.
The goal lifted the visitors and Adam Lallana immediately tested Marshall with a right-footed shot from the edge of the area.
However, Gunn's men were soon back on the attack, Cureton volleying narrowly wide shortly after the hour mark.
The veteran Canaries striker had another opportunity soon after, but Jan Paul Saeijs produced a perfectly-timed tackle just as Cureton looked to pull the trigger.
Equaliser
Southampton then pulled level with 12 minutes remaining as Lloyd James' excellent cross from the right found half-time substitute Saganowski and the Polish striker gave Marshall no chance with a clinical header.
Norwich piled men forward in search of a late winner and Darel Russell saw a header cleared off the line, but Wotte's men held on to claim a valuable share of the spoils.
