Glover: Opened the scoring
Port Vale produced a fine performance to cruise to a 3-0 victory over nine-man Chester.
Chester had Laurence Wilson and Glenn Rule sent off in the space of two second-half minutes, with Wilson dismissed for a reckless challenge on Stephen Thompson before Rule was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
Chester had started well with Kevin Ellison firing a shot into the side netting, before Richie Partridge chipped a shot onto the top of the crossbar.
Vale were booed off at half-time, but their fans soon had something to cheer about when Danny Glover took advantage of a defensive mix-up to slide in a 59th minute opener.
Dean Glover's men added a second soon after Chester's two red cards when substitute Rob Taylor netted from point-blank range.
Fellow Vale substitute James Lawrie completed the scoring when he curled in a memorable first senior goal from 18 yards.
