Huddersfield came before a goal behind to beat Gillingham 2-1 at the Galpharm Stadium and stay fifth in League One. The visitors, who have now lost 11 out of 12 away games this term, made the perfect start when Simeon Jackson scored in the third minute with an audacious lob after the home defence lost sight of Chris Palmer's long ball over the top. Anthony Kay then hit the bar with a 30-yard thunderbolt for the home side while striker Lee Novak had a goal-bound header cleared off the line as Town turned the screw. But Novak finally got the leveller when netting his fourth goal in five games into the bottom right corner on 40 minutes after Jordan Rhodes threaded a diagonal pass to him between two defenders. Rhodes then sealed a first win in four league matches for the Terriers with a glancing header from a Gary Roberts' corner in first half stoppage time.
