Bristol City will make a late decision on Alvaro Saborio as Peterborough wait on Tom Williams.

Late decision on Saborio, Posh assessing Williams

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson will make a late decision on Alvaro Saborio as Peterborough United wait on Tom Williams. Saborio played for Costa Rica on Wednesday night and only arrived back in Bristol on Friday, so the striker will have his condition assessed to determine whether he plays. If Saborio does not start, David Clarkson, Danny Haynes and Ivan Sproule will all be hopeful of partnering Nicky Maynard in attack, with Clarkson impressing against Bournemouth's reserves on Tuesday. Defender Lewin Nyatanga will also be checked over after playing for Wales in Liechtenstein on Wednesday. Liam Fontaine is definitely out as he battles with an ankle injury that is likely to sideline him until the end of the month, while Christian Ribeiro suffered a recurrence of a groin injury while on duty with the Wales Under-21 squad. Defender Brian Wilson is also set for a lengthy spell out after fracturing his shin bone and midfielder Frankie Artus has joined Cheltenham on loan for a third time.

Peterborough news

Peterborough's preparations for the trip to Ashton Gate involve a concern over the fitness of Williams. The midfielder is poised to have a fitness test on an ankle injury which he picked up in training. Should Williams be ruled out, Jamie Day is pushing for a recall after playing an hour in the club's reserve side on Wednesday. Tommy Rowe and Krystian Pearce are also pressing to start, while Craig Morgan will be checked over after playing for Wales in midweek. Manager Darren Ferguson is definitely without the services of midfielder Paul Coutts, who is out for two to three weeks with a foot problem. Highly-rated George Boyd has been told he will start by Ferguson and the striker will equal Eric Steele's record of 124 consecutive Football League appearances for Posh.
