Brighton climbed out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Gillingham at the Withdean Stadium.
Goals from Elliott Bennett and Tommy Elphick were enough to give the home side all three points.
Bennett broke the deadlock on 25 minutes with his first goal for the club with a superb free-kick from the edge of the box.
Gillingham goalkeeper Simon Royce kept the visitors in the game with saves from Andrew Crofts and Liam Dickinson
Brighton made the game safe 12 minutes from time with Elphick heading home Bennett's cross.
The win was only Brighton's second home victory of the season, while for Gillingham it was their fifth defeat out of their last six away games
