Keogh cancels out Pantelic's opener at Croke Park

Andy Keogh struck an injury-time leveller to ensure Giovanni Trapattoni's debut match in charge of Republic of Ireland ended 1-1 against Serbia on Saturday evening. Marko Pantelic bagged the opener before Keogh restored parity in a largely uneventful international friendly at Croke Park to leave the Irish without a win since August 2007. The home side went mighty close on 22 minutes when Damien Duff's deflected cross caused havoc in the penalty as Robbie Keane pounced, only to see his effort cleared off the line by defender Slobodan Rajkovic. Seven minutes before the break the visitors threatened with Sasa Ilic slipping a brilliant ball through to Stefan Babovic, who failed to test goalkeeper Dean Kiely. Chances were few and far between, but on 75 minutes an unmarked Pantelic raced onto Ivica Dragutinovic's through ball to slot home past Kiely. However, in the first minute of injury-time, substitute Andy Keogh netted his first international goal with an unstoppable close-range volley.
