Holland: Mansfield remain in trouble

Mansfield continue to languish in the relegation places, while Shrewsbury are already all-but safe.

The Stags sit second from bottom in the table and have picked up just two victories in their last 13 league games, a run which sees them four points adrift of safety.

Shrewsbury should have done enough to maintain their League Two status for next season, but need a point to make absolutely sure.

Duo in contention

Mansfield manager Paul Holland hopes to have goalkeeper Carl Muggleton and top scorer Michael Boulding available for the crucial clash.

Veteran Muggleton missed the goalless draw against Macclesfield last Saturday with a bruised thumb, while Boulding limped off after an hour at Moss Rose after suffering an ankle injury.

Both players resumed training this week and would be likely to start against the Daggers should they continue to feel no ill-effects.

Meanwhile, defender Gareth Jelleyman could be a surprise inclusion in the Stags' squad.

Holland ruled Jelleyman out in midweek following the 27-year-old's Achilles injury at Macclesfield.

However, on Thursday the Mansfield boss said: "Gareth is coming along a lot better than hoped and, although it is going to be touch and go, he could be back."

Lee returns

Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson is set to be boosted by the return of on-loan Doncaster defender Graeme Lee for the trip to Field Mill.

Lee has missed the last two games after he had 20 stitches in his mouth following a challenge in the defeat to Chesterfield at the beginning of the month.

Striker Kelvin Langmead (knee) and on-loan defender Martin Riley (knee ligaments) are struggling to overcome their respective injuries and could miss out once again.

However, midfielder David Hunt is back in training after a hip injury and will be hoping for a place in the squad.
