Image: Hartley: Concern for Pools

Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Hartlepool and Sheffield United at Victoria Park.

Hartlepool manager Neale Cooper is hoping to include Peter Hartley and teenager Luke James in his squad. Defender Hartley was stretchered off in last Saturday's win at Yeovil amid fears he had broken his leg but returned to light training this week and is expected to be back in contention. Striker James, 17, has spent the last month on the sidelines with a back complaint but could also be in the frame for a return. Another striker, James Poole, is set to miss out due to thigh and hamstring problems while Colin Nish is out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery. Colin Larkin (knee) is hoping to return to full training shortly. Veteran winger Nolberto Solano is still unavailable due to illness as Pools look to stay in the top half of the table. Sheffield United's doctor will make a late decision on whether Richard Cresswell's broken nose will keep the striker out of the game. Cresswell was forced off just after an hour of the midweek win over Chesterfield, after taking a knock in the face, but is hoping to resume alongside 30-goal strike partner Ched Evans. If Cresswell misses out Will Hoskins and James Beattie will vie for a return to the starting line-up. Defender Harry Maguire is another player battling for fitness. He missed out against Chesterfield due to a virus and if he fails to make it Matt Hill will continue at centre-half alongside Neill Collins, with Marcus Williams at left-back. Latest loan signing Michael O'Halloran, from Bolton, is pushing for his first start on the wing after stepping off the bench against Chesterfield.
