Image: Andy Monkhouse: Back from suspension

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Hartlepool and Portsmouth at Victoria Park

Hartlepool midfielder Andy Monkhouse will return to contention for the home game against Portsmouth following suspension. Monkhouse missed the midweek defeat at Bury due to a one-game ban, but should go straight back into the starting line-up as boss Colin Cooper considers one or two changes. Cooper, who has no new injury or suspension problems, will have Matty Dolan available again after the Middlesbrough midfielder extended his loan spell at Victoria Park for another month in time to play on Tuesday night. Midfield trio Antony Sweeney, Jordan Richards and Brad Walker are all in contention to return to the starting line-up. Managerless Portsmouth will check on Patrick Agyemang ahead of the trip to Hartlepool. The striker has missed Pompey's last two matches after aggravating a thigh injury during the 4-0 defeat by AFC Wimbledon a fortnight ago and remains a doubt. Caretaker boss Andy Awford sprang a surprise by handing 17-year-old defender Jack Whatmough a debut in Tuesday's 2-1 defeat by Southend at the expense of Bondz N'Gala and the youngster could keep his place. Midfielder Gavin Mahon has left the club at the end of his short-term contract, having missed the last three matches through suspension anyway.
