Gillingham v Morecambe preview

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Gillingham and Morecambe at Priestfield.

The League Two leaders have received mixed injury news ahead of this weekend's home tie. Charlie Lee, who was forced off at half-time in last weekend's 2-2 draw at Plymouth, has recovered from a virus while fellow midfielder Charlie Allen returns to the fold following his wrist injury. But the Gills have lost the services of midfield man Jack Payne after he twisted his ankle during training. Bradley Dack is back in training after his foot problem but the game comes too soon, while full-back Joe Martin (wrist) remains a couple of weeks away from his return despite being involved in some non-contact action. Martin Allen's side go into the encounter having lost just once at home this season. Meanwhile, Morecambe boss Jim Bentley has problems in attack. Bentley learned he would be without Jordan Burrow for around three months with a knee injury earlier this week and fellow striker Jack Redshaw remains doubtful due to a calf complaint. Lewis Alessandra led the line with support out wide from Izak Reid and Kevin Ellison in Tuesday night's 1-0 FA Cup first-round replay win over Rochdale and the trio are set to continue. "The front three virtually picked itself the other night," Bentley told the Morecambe Visitor. "Izak Reid's come in from the cold and I thought he worked hard and did well, Kev is Kev and Lewis showed glimpses of what he's capable of again." Goalkeeper Barry Roche overcame a leg injury to feature in midweek, while defenders Will Haining and Robbie Threlfall are back from calf and thigh injuries. Threlfall could come in at full-back after the Shrimps failed to agree an extended deal for Wigan loanee Jordan Mustoe.
