Gillingham v Bury preview

Image: Ajose: Remains sidelined for Shakers

Team news for Saturday afternoon's League Two clash between Gillingham and Bury at Priestfield.

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler will have defender Matt Lawrence and winger Andy Barcham available for the home match against Bury. Lawrence missed Saturday's 1-1 draw at Crewe with a groin problem he sustained in the previous game against Rotherham, while Barcham has been out for nearly a month with an ankle injury. Defender Tony Sinclair is also likely to be in the squad despite picking up an ankle problem in a practice match on Tuesday. However, centre-backs Josh Gowling (ankle) and Simon King (hamstring) miss out while forward Dennis Oli will be used as an impact substitute again due to a troublesome hamstring. Midfielders Joe Martin (cheekbone) and Chris Palmer (knee) remain sidelined, as does Connor Essam (ankle). Bury boss Alan Knill has no fresh injury or suspension concerns ahead of the trip to Gillingham. On-loan Manchester United striker Nicky Ajose, who missed Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Chesterfield, will remain sidelined for a further six weeks with a knee injury. But the Shakers have no other worries as they seek to further enhance their promotion credentials following the stalemate with the Spireites. Former Shakers striker Danny Carlton, who had his contract cancelled by mutual consent last month, has signed for Morecambe until the end of the season. Yet Knill has one of the most lethal marksmen in the league at his disposal in Ryan Lowe, who scored his 20th goal of the season against Chesterfield on Tuesday. Knill said: "He has got 20 goals now and that is quality."
