Managerless U's hold Grecians

Managerless Oxford maintained their unbeaten away record in League Two with a goalless draw against Exeter at St James' Park.

It was Mickey Lewis's first game in charge of the U's following manager Chris Wilder's sudden departure to Northampton earlier this week. The Grecians edged a cagey first half and went closest to scoring when Arron Davies sent a dipping half volley goalwards from 30 yards. The ball looked to be heading under the bar, but Ryan Clarke got his fingers to the ball and diverted it onto the bar to keep the scores level. Exeter also shaded the second half, but for all their possession, chances were few and far between. Davies forced Ryan Clarke into a smart stop at his near post after a superb run from Jimmy Keohane. Oxford rarely threatened at all with the closest they came to a goal coming in the first half, but Nicky Wroe's free-kick was straight at Artur Krysiak and the Polish goalkeeper then saved superbly from Dean Smalley.
