Woodall spares Daggers' blushes

Brian Woodall scored his first goal for Dagenham to seal a 1-1 draw and an FA Cup replay against non-league Bath.

Sean Canham gave the Blue Square Premier's bottom club a shock lead after 11 minutes, when hesitant defending saw the forward race through one-on-one with keeper Chris Lewington and finish into the bottom corner. The visitors had keeper Glyn Garner to thank for preserving their lead on the half-hour when he scooped away Phil Walsh's close-range effort. Damian Scannell and Danny Green went close as the League Two club pushed forward, and their pressure told in the 41st minute when Woodall's header looped over Garner to equalise. After the break Lewington was lucky to escape a red card after bringing down Marley Watkins on the edge of the box, but referee Graham Scott chose to book the keeper to the fury of the Bath bench. With 20 minutes remaining Daggers striker Jon Nurse was thwarted from close range by Garner, while Lewington saved from Canham and Adam Connolly.
