Crewe entertain Bury at Gresty Road

Crewe defender Matt Tootle could make a surprise return when Dario Gradi's side welcome Bury to Gresty Road. The right-back suffered a hamstring injury in the Carling Cup defeat to Ipswich last month but has made a swift return to training to put himself in contention. Rhys Taylor will continue after Gradi agreed a deal to extend the goalkeeper's loan deal from Chelsea until the end of the season. The 20-year-old joined the League Two club on an initial two-month deal as cover for Steve Phillips, who is recovering from shoulder surgery. That deal was due to expire on Wednesday. Phillips is nearing a return after stepping up his training routine this week but is not yet fit enough to feature.

Bury news

Bury manager Alan Knill is able to choose from a full-strength squad for the trip to rivals Crewe. The Shakers edged a thrilling encounter 5-4 at home to Gillingham last weekend and picked up no injuries or suspensions. Striker Andy Bishop looks set to start up front alongside Ryan Lowe again after both men scored twice against the Gills. The highly-rated strike pairing have already scored six goals between them this season and defender Ben Futcher believes they will continue to find the net on a regular basis. Futcher said: "Bishop and Lowe have always got goal in them, they are a good front pairing. We can also get goals from out wide as well so long may it continue."
