McPake poised for Sky Blues debut; Kightly faces fitness race

Coventry City go head-to-head with Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday. Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman is likely to hand defender James McPake his debut at the weekend. The 24-year-old joined Coventrt this week from Livingston and will go straight into the squad to face the Championship table-toppers. Jordan Henderson and David Bell made their bows in the 2-1 defeat to Derby last time out and are likely to keep their places in the side. However, Coleman will continue to be without midfielder Aron Gunnarsson as he serves the final game of his two-match ban for reaching 10 bookings this season. Fellow midfielder Michael Doyle continues to walk a disciplinary tightrope knowing that one more booking will take him to five for the season and trigger an automatic one-match ban.

Wolves team news

Michael Kightly is hopeful he will be fit for Wolves' trip to face Coventry. The winger had to leave the field after just half an hour of Tuesday's 3-3 draw against Norwich with a shoulder problem, but is optimistic he will line up against the Sky Blues. "I had a scan on it on Wednesday and we are just waiting for the results from the specialist, but I should be all right for Coventry - I certainly hope so anyway," Kightly told the club's official website. Defender Neill Collins returns after completing his two-match ban, while new signing Christophe Berra could make his debut having now had a few days training with his new team-mates. Nigel Quashie will be hoping to earn a place in midfield while manager Mick McCarthy could decide to shake up his strike-force.
